Or do we take the QB? But this is another reason why the Smith trade was questionable. There's a chance that the KC situation w/ Mahomes happens here.
Trade back with the Bills

Seeing as Cousins never really wanted to deal with the Skins to the point that other players said he we sending mixed messages I wouldn't blame the Skins if they tried.

He wanted to do what he thought would get him the most money and I think it even showed on the field. Playing for stats instead of wins. So the Skins should treat him like nothing more than a commodity.

Chris Thompson for one.

I think everybody got some mixed messages, I will say that," Thompson, one of the first*Redskins*players to comment publicly after the trade, said,*via the Washington Post. "I know for me, talking to Kirk, being with Kirk, all we talked about was, you know, 'C.T., with you staying healthy, we can do this with you, we can do that with you,' and we were able to do a lot of the things that Kirk wanted to do with me. We wanted to continue this, so for me, I expected him to be here.

*knew it would be hard given that we want to win, but if you pay a guy [$30 million] a year, it's going to sacrifice some other things as well, as far as helping our defense out, maybe getting some more receivers, or running backs and all those type of things. It's kind of hard to say. I think everybody got a different feel about it, but I know Kirk enjoyed being with me and I enjoyed being with him, so I wanted him to be here and I think part of him wanted to be here, but at the end of the day, you gotta do whatever you think is best for you and your family."

Basically Cousins could say I want to play with you guys but he was willing to sacrifice the over all good of the team to get paid.

One guy on the team demanding so much money will impact every other guy on the team

No it was the FO that did it KC was looking out for the team he said and did everything right. KC wanted a long term deal as is obvious with the link you posted ,it wasn't money it was about be loyal to the team and he was, the FO was not to him. They didn't even call him first.

You believe what you want but guys knew the kind of money he was asking for. Heck percentage of the salary cap was discussed at one point and has been mentioned again. There have been contracts worked while Cousins was here. Heck they made Morgan Moses the 2nd highest paid RT.

If Cousins had wanted be there his team mates would have known it.

This whole story line is total BS. Regardless of whether or not the Redskins can pull a tag and trade off, the idea that it is petty to try to get value back for the QB you're losing is ludicrous. Is it worth the risk? Maybe, maybe not, but to characterize the move as anything other than business is horse crap.

Petty would be tag him and sit him.

I thought that too but if Denver or the Jets takes Cousins then they won't take a rookie. The Bengals pick in front of us and I wonder if they'd take a QB.

Please don't give Dan / Bruce the idea. You know they have already considered this...

You make it sound like he was a bad teammate and that simply is not true. You give no blame to the front office at all.

If they did not see Cousins as the guy then no he did not deserve the money he wanted.

Always chipping you like that at Scot M or Gruden in practice but not putting together in primetime or when it counted.

As union guy myself one thing I do is I spend time researching actual value and trends as well as advantages the company has and lacks as well as changes in the field. The first offer you get is their fantasy. You don't get butt hurt over it.

Cousins could have been a good qb on a great team as the Skins build up their d. But he wants to be paid elite money on team that is mediocre because he does not have cap room to sign other good or great players.

Petty is tagging him and placing him on the practice squad. Tagging him and recovering your draft picks it good business. If it was 10 other team, they would be praised for the idea. Since it’s the skins, they are bashed.

What? JG is a great player? Do you know what happens if the Skins tag him again ,do you know how much the Skins just paid him...............keep fooling yourself if you think this is all about money. You keep talking about elite, what do Rodgers,Brees, Brady make ? KC didn't ask for elite the Redskin gave it to him free will.
