re: What Shows Are You Watching?

I've been watching Smash not because I'm into the storylines but because it is a hot woman fest.

My girlfriend likes that show and is trying to get me to watch it more, but after about 40 minutes of the first episode I had to turn it off. Does it get any better at all?

I usually enjoy period based drama shows. There's not much "action" but there's definitely a lot of twists and turns that keeps me watching.

I gave this show a second chance, and I'm glad I did.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?

I started watching Key & Peele on CC when the first episode came on. I was hoping it would fill the sketch comedy void left by Chappelle's Show many years ago, but I don't think it's that good. I watched a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother last night too, it was pretty decent and I might get into that at some point now that I have a Netflix subscription. I'm still big on The Big Bang Theory though.

Key and Peele is not bad (we definitely DVR it), but I think sometimes they go racial just for racial's sake. Chappelle lived on the edge, but that didn't define him while I feel like that's what defines Key and Peele.

That being said, they have definitely had a couple of sketches that have made me LOL.

They've had a couple funny sketches (I liked the Obama anger-translator sketch, and the one where they are both change their tones while talking on their cell phones in the street is funny) but I don't think it's as consistent as Chappelle's sketches were. I own the first two seasons of CS on dvd and there isn't a single episode in either season that I don't like. Chappelle's Show is a hard standard to live up to, but it is what it is.

As far as shows go right now I'm big on The Wire (really late on that one, yeah I know), The Big Bang Theory (right now I'm just catching up on that), Archer (but their new season just ended) the new season of Tosh.0, and this new season of South Park (first two episodes have been pretty funny, I really enjoyed the meme episode last night).

It's not many, but I don't recall how many exactly

I did, haven't had a chance to see it yet though.

Although, I actually saw the first couple of minutes the other day when I was using it as an example while teaching my mom how to sync Netflix from her iPad to her TV
