Thought I heard Zimmer's name floated somewhere early on.

I wonder if it's a personal thing for Zimmer, I remember his wife passing away sometime in the last couple years, maybe he doesn't want to leave his current way of life or something.

These comments from a respected Seahawks blogger makes me even more leery of Bevell, Washington Redskins Head Coaching Candidate Seattle Seahawks Darrell Bevell. Hope we pass on him.

The skins haven't scheduled any interviews with any African American coaching candidates just yet, I have a feeling David Shaw is very much on the radar after today's Rose Bowl.

There was a segment on Sportscenter last week where AS and CM were saying people in the Redskins FO had contact with Shaws people as far back as week 10 or so if I remember correctly.

Shaw has said repeatedly that he's not interested in the NFL at this time so I doubt he'd even take the time to interview. Morris will surely get interviewed in house, which would fulfill the Rooney requirement, but I hope they would look to meet that with a 'serious' candidate as well.

Hogs heaven has another article on him. Seems like he would be a very zorn-esque hire to me. Doesn't seem to have great leadership qualities. Of the current coordinator candidates, jay Gruden and McDermott are the only ones who interest me

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)

Ian Rappaport said we're scheduled to interview Jim Caldwell (Ravens OC). Great QB coach, average coordinator, not interested as a head coach. Manning loved him in Indy but it all fell apart when he got hurt.

Interesting . . . he had such a great start his first two years as HC in Indy, clearly Peyton Manning helps ALOT. I mean, not only does his talent win games on its own AND elevate the level of play of everyone around him, but he is also a coach-in-player. I wonder what, if anything particular, Caldwell is missing that would result in that 2-14 season? I mean, loosing Manning is a hard thing to bounce back from, not that it excuses such an abysmal record, but maybe just as his first couple of seasons may look better for him because of PM his last season looks more his fault than it really was. Might be worth the look.

If I had to pick a new HC right now I'd go with Bevell.
