Re: Around the NFL Off - Season style.

For those saying negative things about Winston, I guarantee you if you saw the news saying "redskins sign Eric Winston" you all will be tooting your horns a lot differently than they sound now.

This. If it was a below market value, 1-3 year deal with minimal cap penalties in event of release, I wouldn't be upset about it. If it was a "restructure 5 guys so we can give him 8 mil per for 5 seasons" kinda deal, I'd be disappointed. I think he's this FA's example of a name guy, whose name has gotten bigger than his value. Only difference is there aren't any teams out there willing to give him a big deal.

I promise you I wouldn't, not for what he was asking, and not with our (ie DS) history of chasing named guys. It would harken back to worse times that our FO seems to be gone from, but not all of our fanbase. We have drafted OL, keep drafting, find your guys, keep them in house.

Since I don't have a man-crush on Winston like you do, I don't really care if we sign him or not. To sign him means adding a capable tackle. Not signing him means we have Compton or Pashos at RT (with Trueblood in reserve) and I'm good with that outcome.

Agree with you and the family.

"If you want a real movie, hire a real actor," wrote J.C. Unitas, the grandson of the Colts' star.

Loved this quote:

"It is awful. The guy's a turd," John Jr. said in the report. "He never talked to me. He never talked to any of the first five children. He's a guy that's just making money off of my father."

Flacco is not acting in it, all he will do is recreate the football scenes, if the family is upset then they should sue, someone must have given them permission.

For some reason that's one of the funniest things I've ever read on the WP.

Isnt him and his family doing the same damn thing? This guy is a nobody without his last name.

No need for Packers boss Murphy to explain quiet offseason - CBSSports.com

Now look at the Washington Redskins. For years they spent lavishly on free agents but went nowhere. Then they won the NFC East in 2012, only it wasn't free agents that led the charge; it was draft picks Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris, and let that be a lesson to everyone.
At least someone is taking notice of us

I'd love to print a poster of Flacco and add the quote to it:

"The guy's a turd. - Unitas family"

The Ravens fans in my office would just love that.
