If Shanahan can create an effective running game behind McNabb it could be a very good situation for all Redskinsland.
Very true. Makes me feel a little better about McNabb in B&G.

Excellent point. That's one of the biggest potential bright spots for us. A strong running game -- assuming we can put one together -- is a component nobody has seen in conjunction with McNabb.

I may be off a little but after cutting all of those players and accelerating Haynesworth and Hall's deals we were sitting on a cap number of $179 million.

McNabb's contract in the current form is another 11 million.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

Perhaps we should consider picking up Westbrook now and trading JC for a left tackle.
I just dont think a trade for a LT if gunna happen due to depreciated value of Campbell.

I really don't agree that we should trade Campbell if all we get is a 4th or 5th rounder...he'd be a great backup...why not stick with him....or if we could trade him for a franchise FS or WR...that would be cool

980 is reporting that 5 teams are interested. If that is true, he is going for higher than a 4th or 5th.

If we get a 3rd, I'd be ok with dropping Campbell, I believe he has more value as a backup if all we get is a 4th or worse. We can get a decent LB or RB for a 3rd, but not much else in terms of short term starting potential.

I am all for inflating the interest in JC. better picks for us. And watch us get flozell adas for our RT. the possibility of pairing hi up with Okung or Bulaga is intriguing.

Due to our limited draft picks, I now agree with you on this

HEY NOW!!!!!!! I never said I liked Flozell, just the prospect of him and Okung starting for us is intriguing. LOL, it may work tho, we shall see if we go that route.

Plus, we arent afraid of getting division players in here to work for us apparently, but maybe the cowgirls are a little more cautious in trading in the division than the iggles

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

I don't like the trade because its falling into the same pattern of the past. Trading draft picks for overpaid, at the end of their rope players. Donovan McNabb is 33 years old. He has a history of injuries. He only has one year on his current contract and its going to be very expensive to resign him. The Redskins still need offensive line help. I expect the Skins to select Okung at #4 but unless they can get good value for Campbell in a trade, I'm not a happy camper.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

Also, i doubt we make this trade and keep our WR corps as is. I think Shanny and Kyle will want a proven #1 for our new QB to throw to. I dont think they make this trade, and think malcolm kelly (gimme a break) will be suddenly the go to guy at WR. We will make a move for marshall, or maybe nab D. Thomas from GT. The guy looks like a steal.

I totally agree. You simply don't trade for McNabb and have him throw do our current wr's. Perhaps Cooley is being thrown around for a 2nd rounder and we deal that first rounder of Marshall and let Davis step in at TE. I'm telling you we're not done wheeling and dealing!

I don't think Marshall is anyone's answer, but we're going to have to do something at the wide receiver position.

well if he can get 100+ catches and 10 td's in 15 games with orton throwing him the ball then i'd expect him to put up comparbale or better numbers with mcnabb. but the line is still going to be a problem, regardless of whether we deal the 1st rounder or not.
