Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
It's not a "we don't want to sign him", it's a he doesn't want a long term deal here. Period. Dan and Bruce dicked around 3 years in a row and now his free agency is going to be on his terms and doubtful here.

Kind of ready to move on from Cousins. If he doesn't want to be a Redskin and play here then so be it. He's not an elite QB yet he's being portrayed as one. It's been three years in a row where he's basically played like dog shit in the last game or games of the year. Sure go to Denver or Arizona and play behind those POS o-lines. I think the Redskins will trans tag him and see what happens.... |

Yeah I think everyone forgets Kirk denied a deal last yr reportedly worth $20 plus million. That shows you he really didn't want a LTD from BA, more of a F YOU to his face.

I hope you are right and he does want a LTD but until it happens I'll be concerned, I just dont think he and BA are on the same page.

I liked the interview answer where Kirk said he wanted the franchise this last season to see how the offense played without McVay and he feels comfortable with the way things are. I don't think that was a smoke screen but a legit answer.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I think he's the first QB to focus solely on the guaranteed money of a deal vs the guarantees that come with a one-year franchise tag. That's all he wants, guarantees.
He doesn't want to turn control over to a team for five years if he's only going to be guaranteed two. At that point he might as well just play on the franchise tag. It's an excellent point. If the Skins offer 3+ years of guarantees in a 5 year deal, then he'd likely be interested. If another team offers that, then he'd likely be interested in them, assuming they're a good situation in which he thinks he can succeed. I don't think he wants the highest salary, but he does want very high guarantees.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
Just talk to other teams that may be interested in a trade for Kirk. He doesn't want to be here or he would want to get the deal done so the redskins could focus on other team needs/draft. He is not worth anywhere near what it will take to sign him. All you have to do is send a blitz and he will take a sack or throw an interception. There may be a team out there that would want to trade for him because if he gets to the open market the price could be so high that they couldn't sign him because of lack of cap space. Just a thought, not sure though. Got to try to get something for him.

Cousins and Redskins are messing up my mock drafting. Have to do 2 drafts now. 1 each with and without a QB selection.
Fire Bruce Allen resign Cousins and make 95% of your fans happy. Seems simple to me but this is the Skins.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I've narrowed what Cousins wants down to 3 things: he wants out no matter what, he is 50/50 and will stay if the money is right, he's wanted to stay the whole time but didn't want to give up his hand in negotiations and we've just over analyzed every comment.
