James Franklin has been a miracle worker at Vanderbilt. A friend of mine played for him when he was WR coach at Idaho State ('99) and says his motivation skills are off the charts. Definitely a dark horse, but if we're casting a wide net, he deserves a look.

Sean McDermott seems like a hard ass. Something Washington needs. As long as we have an excellent OC for RG3 I don't care if the HC is O or D.

All Shanahan did was have the contracts redone to pay out in the uncapped year. A restructuring that THE LEAGUE HAD TO ACTIVELY APPROVE to be implemented. And the league did approve the contracts. And even after the cap "penalty" they put in place two years after the fact, the league front office is quoted as saying the Redskins "broke no rules".

For all the stuff that did go wrong in Shanny's tenure, the cap "penalty" was definitely not his fault.
disagree!! . . . they may have signed the players . . . but it was how Shanny decided to handle the situation of getting rid of the players that created the cap penalty . . .

At this point I don't care who they hire, everyone has their opinion on it. This team will not be taken seriously until they achieve success and sustain it. Who knows it probably won't ever happen?

This.. Who cares!! Vince Lombardi could come back from the dead to coach this team and Dan would find some way to screw that up.

The Giants granting Fewell permission to interview with a division rival reminds me of the Eagles trading its "franchise QB" donovan mcnabb to a division rival.

Was there a danger of MS getting in the HOF?

Shanahan did not create the cap penalty. He followed the league rules to a t. John Mara and Roger Goodell created the cap penalty. To enforce illegal collusion that most of the NFL owners participated in 2010.

lol, saying that Shanahan created the cap penalty is like saying a mugging victim must have robbed and beat up himself.
