Re: Why We Shouldn't Go Crazy in Free Agency

i think theyre maybe planning for the possibility of taylor being gone. archuleta would be an upgrade over clark, but that would be a shame to see such a team guy a) get the boot or b) get benched

Re: Why We Shouldn't Go Crazy in Free Agency

we'll be able to get two of the following in the draft:
nickel CB
LB (that could start 1st year)
TE #2
backup OL

you're not going to find an immediate impact player at DE or WR though (in all likelyhood), those are the positions i'd hammer in FA. as well as a kicker who's shown he's not crap.

If someone like dyson doesn't get a good offer, it'd be great to pick him up, but i don't think you're going to see more than 3 or 4 guys brought into start. bringing in an OL guy is MUCH more expensive than a drafted guy (as far as quality/price), and the FA TE market is pretty crappy too.

We definately need help at DE and WR. I don't think anyone would argue with you and I've never done so. Those are positions of need. Of course we might need help at LB because we just dumped Arrington. But getting 3 new starters wouldn't be going crazy (I've always said that was reasonable and probably to be expected). So, are you just being argumentative for its own sake, or do you actually disagree with what I said?

What I have disagreed with is people who want to upgrade starters everywhere (i.e. TE, LG, WR, SS, DT, DE, OLB). We could improve over the starters at all of those positions, but not all at once and certainly not all at once through free agency.
I was disagreeing with the guy who said that they won't be spending a lot.

I don't think they should bench Rogers or Springs but I want Jimoh back and I also want a corner with starting credentials. Springs has missed time the last two years and I think it is likely that he will get banged up again this year. I would love it if they got RW McQ.

I do not want an OL to get benched. I am a big believer that you try to keep the same line together for a long time. It is also an area where someone is likely to miss time over the season and they need someone who could start to come in. I always worry about Samuels. It seems like he has been close to a season ender several times.

I am starting to think that Moulds would be the better wideout pick (over Bruce). They have plenty of speed. I think they need a possesion guy.

For Safety, I think that Prieleau, Stoutmire, Clark and Taylor would be all they need. I don't want Archuletta. The money would be better spent elsewhere.

I do want at least one big name hopefully on the DL. A good pass rush makes everything else easier.

(I in no way want TO on the Redskins) I was being sarcastic before someone goes on a tangent about TO and Redskins.
maybe cause TOs a total asshole and bruce is a character guy.

nobody ever talks about jurevicious though. i feel people are too enamoured with bruce, moulds, etc.

koren robinson, givens and jurevicious are the best chices i think

Re: Why We Shouldn't Go Crazy in Free Agency

JJ is probably staying in seattle cause he talked about his home and wife etc there and how he didn't really want to move. maybe that's changed now, but i'm not sure how willing he is for a 3000 mile relocation.
