Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

There's a lot of reason to expect the offense to explode with or without Moss. Coming off the bye week is going to give us a big boost, and I would not be shocked to see Campbell come out looking like a different QB than he did in the first three games.

Might as well put this one on his shoulders, its something we are going to have to do eventually.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

We have had two weeks to prepare a defensive strategy for the Lions at home. I'm very confident that G.Williams put together something tastey for Kitna and company. Our defense will dominate the line of scrimage and make sacks and picks.

Due to our lack our offensive fire power we will not be able to pull away and this game comes down to the 4th Q (like always). Running attack comes back this week and Campbell does just enough......I'm even looking ahead next week in Green Bay where we pick up another W to go 4-1.

If we're only gonna score 24 pts this Sunday there's probably not much sense in taking the field.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Redskins 34
Lions 15

On offense, the redskins score on their first 3 possessions. A touchdown, a field goal and a touchdown - in that order and they have learned to put a game away with mixing up the play calling after being ahead at the half.

On defense, the redskins give a bunch looks to the lions, being able to confuse Kitna enough where he makes the wrong decisions at crucial times. The lions are able to move the ball in the middle of the field seemingly at will in the beginning but like a prize fight gameplan - the receivers and running backs and hopefully the quarterback get worn down by the consistently hard hits that the redskins are dishing out.

The redskins fans will be worried and frustrated at first at how easily the lions are eating up yardage, but get onboard in the 4th quarter when they finally figure out this was the gameplan all along.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Anyone who thinks the Redskins offense will be able to produce more than two offensive touchdowns needs to get off the hallucinogenic drugs.

At some point, our secondary is going to get exposed in a very ugly way.

But not this week. It'll be another gut-wrenching contest...

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

I'm honestly more worried about this game than I was about the Giants game. Right now, the Lions look like a better team than New York, and I don't care that we should've won that game. They blew it in the second half, and I'm going to continue to question their ability to play with a lead until they can actually get up by 2 TD's and not sandbag it for the next 20 minutes!

What I'd love to see this week is for the skins to get out to an early lead and not just maintain it, but put the game out of reach, and do it early

prediction
Lions 27
Skins 28

(Cooley comes up big with a game winning TD ~~ SKINS WIN)

I just can't see us holding them to less than 3 TD's, and with the possibility of Moss and/or Portis out this week, the skins are going to have trouble, because Detriot will key on ARE all day. As far as the Portis injury goes, I'm not as worried about it as I am about Moss, because I'm confident that Betts can get the job done.

Our defense has gotten better, but I don't trust our secondary as much as I'd like to. Sure, Landry and Taylor are studs, but Carlos Rogers hasn't had a good game yet this year. We just seem to be giving up a lot of big plays in the passing game this year, and I hope Williams gave them all a lecture on tackling... that 2nd half was pathetic...

Well I'll be at the game yellin my head off this weekend too, as are a lot of you guys I'm sure.

hope we get back on track this week. 3-1, staying in 2nd place would be nice.

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions

Hard to get sacks when Kitna is making a lot of 3 step drops and letting his receivers run in space. Our only chance is if we can lock down receivers 1v1. If we try to win with a zone they'll eat it up.

I think it will be close going into the half Redskins 14 Detroit 7. But I think after the Giants game, we will come out firing in the second half and the final score will be Redskins 28 Detroit 7

We came out firing in the second half of the NY game...that didn't work out too well.

It's amazing to me that a lot of people are talking about "coming out firing". That's not redskins football. Run the ball, control the clock, play solid defense. Yeah, you take your occasional shot down the field for a big play, but you don't "come out firing".
