Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
So when can we change the stock narrative from "young black man with troubled past is killed and no one is surprised" to "a young man who was doing everything right was killed trying to protect his family from criminals who wanted some money." When do we get an apology from all the writers who said they were not surprised at all and they just knew this would happen? I suspect we don't, but if this story continues to play out as it currently is going then I think every last one of them owes Sean Taylor AT LEAST that.

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
Probably nothing. I would hope for more... but... I don't think it will happen unless he is publicly called out on it.

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
I so hope that ultimately those responsible are NOT from ST's past and people will honor his time here with us instead of continually dredging up his previous relationships.

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
I tell you one thing that has absolutely been eating me up since Taylor passed away, this whole thing that he's "turning his life around" or "getting on track" or "getting his life together." While that may have been true, you rarely heard that he's simply maturing into an adult.
I can't remember which thread it was, but 70Chip really summed up a lot of misperceptions about Sean Taylor better than anyone I've seen or heard. |

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
Yeah, it's pretty shady how this man's memory was treated. Not so much for us, since I think we pretty much knew all of that to be B.S. but for a lot of people who didn't know much about ST, they might think some thug got shot because he was a thug, nothing more. And that is truly a shame.

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
According to the Miami Hearld it appears that he was targeted but not because of the reasons that Cowtud and Wilbonehead seem to think. He was targeted because he had money and nobody expected him to be home seven hours after a game. Maybe the headlines will stop refering to his race (as if that ever made a difference) and focused on his age and who he was. Call me an ignorant white guy, but why is black on black crime worse than any other murder?

I can't wait for members of the media who were so convinced Sean's past killed him to eat crow. You'd think that prominent members of the press would not rush to judgment. Speculation is fine provided it is reasonable and is labeled speculation.....it's another matter when the speculation is unreasonable and/or presented as virtual fact. |

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
I have always liked Wilbon. I didn't really agree too much w/ his article. On the surface though it would seem reasonable to suspect that it was not random, and was premeditated. Unfortunately, some facts got twisted around to make it seem like he was a target or some sort of payback.
I listed to everyones opinion and although most were cordial they rang w/ an underlying tone of his past catching up w/ him. Everyone jumped to this conclusion. If the most recent news is correct, I just hope everyone who jumped to this conclusion is aware of their error. |

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
thats all fine and good, but his close friends and certainly his family have already been unjustly subjected to that bs at a devastating time. Can you imagine listening to the news of your son's death and hearing so many people in the media passing judgement on him based on pure speculation? Especially if he died defending his goddamn family...

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
I think the mother f ' er should get the death penaty. It should be done on the fifty yard line at either Fed Ex or the Orange Bowl In front of a sold out crowd. Then bury the bastard face down so he can see were he is going---straight to hell.

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
New tidbit reported by the Miami-Herald and on JLC's blog. At least one of the men being questioned was at the house for a birthday party. So wonder if they are talking to these guys about who they talked to about the house or if they are genuine suspects. Guess we'll learn more as time goes on.

Re: ST Murder Investigation Thread
For the purposes of keeping things from being too confusing. I'm going to lock this thread and move the discussion over here, where earlier today we started discussing the latest developments.
http://www.redskinswarpath.com/locke...-look-1-a.html Good thread we had here, just want to make sure information doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
