Hey!!I resent that ![]() since i"m usually the one bringing up Vandy I still dont see how bringing in the best kicker in nfl history for some competition for suisham is a bad thing

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
I would hardly call Vangerjagt the best kicker in history. He was a dome kicker his entire career before Dallas. Dome kickers don't even enter the discussion of greatest kicker ever IMO.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
please someone correct me if i'm wrong but didn't the sequence of plays goes as follows:
1- missed fg 2- 2nd int by landry 3- 3 & out by the skins o 4- go ahead td by the hawks if thats right then the skins should have regained momentum on the interception but then lost it again because the offense went 3 and out

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
thats what i thought, and people make it sound as if the hawks marched right down the field and scored the go ahead td right after the missed fg. they seem to forget there was a redskins defensive int and a skins 3 & out in between.
ps. i didn't know the kicking team could not advance the ball if they recovered it. that rule sucks

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
kicker is fine, offense just sucks and needs to be beefed up for 08. we need a LG and RT in the worst way, and i think jensen is going to be injury prone from here out. cant blame the kicker for a playoff team that cant punch it in from the 14 after having all the momentum our way.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
Cooley dropped a pass that would have been a first down on the one and we could have punched it in. We shouldn't even of had the chance to kick one it should have been first down at the one. We choke so much. How can Cooley make a one handed grab, but can't make a routine catch in a clutch situation. Makes no sense..

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
I am a paraphrasing here...
"Mistakes in the playoffs become magnified due to the quality of you opponent..." --Jimmy Johnson Suisham and Folk may have similar numbers but Suisham does not inspire any confidence. Missing big kicks in the 4th quarter especially missing kicks <40 yards is unacceptable. Heck, Suisham said it himself. The timing of that miss at that juncture was the seminal moment in this playoff game. |

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
Well while I agree that it was a big mistake we blew to many other thing to blame him for the loss.

Re: Suisham = Momentum Killer
I think that if we made the kick we still might have lost. But I don't blame him for the LOSS. But I do blame him for being a choke artist. High school kids, maybe even college kids can get away with missing a 30 yard field goal but man, 30 yards is basically a chip shot for a pro kicker. It's inexcusable to miss that.
