Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

Well, you knew he was going to leave at some point. I like continuity...I'm all for Greg Williams becoming the head coach and Saunders staying on as the leader of the O.

Man this sucks! I just feel it's too soon for Joe Gibbs to step down. Please, let us not have another 15 years of suckville!

For what we are likely to pay for whoever it is, i would like him to have a winning record as a HC in this league, with a long track record. So Cowher or Schotti.

Exactly, I'm sure the three of them discussed this before Gibbs ever went public about the whole thing anyway. One announcement will follow the other. I think this season GW grew into his own skin a little bit. He feels a special connection to this team more than any place he's ever been.

I do not want some college coach to come in and changed things in this organization. We need some continuity. I'm hearing that Synder might be tempted to contact Pete Carroll or some high profile name. This would be a huge mistake. ONCE AGAIN, YOU CAN NOT BLAME HIM, HE CAN NOT COACH FOREVER!!
I agree - I thought he would stick around in the front office. I'm disappointed he is leaving. I think this could be a huge blow.

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

Greg Williams is more aggressive than Joe Gibbs, which is what I would like to see. Make Greg the Head coach and keep Saunders. They run both the Offense and the Defense anyway. Joe has just been a supervisor for 2 years. It still stinks though!

Would it be correct to assume that you're actually serious?

Patrick Ramsey, anyone?

Not to reopen that debate, but he was another coach's young QB as well. Hopefully JC gets support next year to continue to develop.

Forget Schotti. He's not coming back here again. He'd be foolish to do so.

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

I actually feel a little bit better about this now that the prospect of GW taking over as head coach and Saunders staying on as OC. That really wouldn't be a bad combo at all if Snyder can pull it off.

Greg Williams will leave to be a Head Coach elsewhere.
Al Saunders will leave too.

Both of those are bad....very bad.

I say, 90% Greg Williams will be our new coach and Saunders will stay.
Our owner aint that stupid to risk losing that much coaching talent.
