Re: Hmm...Mystery HC Candidate to Get Interview
The PFT rumormill seems to think it's a college coach. Maybe Pete Carrol? Charile Weis?

Re: Hmm...Mystery HC Candidate to Get Interview
Maybe Charlie Weiss since Notre Dame is VC's alma matter.

Re: Hmm...Mystery HC Candidate to Get Interview
This is from an ExtremeSkins poster:
My dad, who lives in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, just called me and told me that he is listening to a radio show right now, host is something Castleberry, (John or Jim, not sure), and they are reporting that it was indeed Jimmy Johnson that is being picked up from Green Bay. Dad wasn't very good with details on who their source was, but he said they are being serious and all but confirmed it was Jimmy Johnson. So take that for what it's worth.

Re: Hmm...Mystery HC Candidate to Get Interview
I'm kind of having fun watching all of you pulling your hair out and all of these senarios that people are comming up with. I learned years ago that life is to short to worry about thing that you have no control over. Now that is easier said than done.

Re: Hmm...Mystery HC Candidate to Get Interview
I actually think the speculation is pretty fun. It's either talk about this or talk about retro-jerseys or lavar. Weiss is an interesting name being that he's been pretty crappy at ND and may want to redeem himself but I think it's JJ. His hair looked ready for interviews

Re: Hmm...Mystery HC Candidate to Get Interview
JLC Redskin Insider:
Posted at 12:49 PM ET, 01/21/2008 Another Day At The Circus Another day, another round of rumors du jour, eh? Don't you just get the feeling the owner is eating up all this pseudo-intrigue and BS? Oh the drama. There is one guy already here who makes the most sense, but this cloak and dagger stuff (tried to repeat my old typo there - for the OGS - but forgot. Was it cload and dagger?) is probably irresistible for some people. First of all, a disclaimer: I am not reporting this stuff as fact. In an era of rampant speculation I am being as careful as I can. But with my email getting whacked by requests for info, I wanted to post something between calls. I continue to hear that Jim Fassel, former Giants coach and Baltimore assistant, could be getting a look. Could is the operative word there. His name keeps popping up among sources. He could - there's that word again - be headed to town from Green Bay, where he did the radio broadcast of the NFC game Sunday. But I do NOT know this as fact yet. Getting a lot of emails about Giants D Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as well. Two sources who would normally have direct knowledge of any such interaction between the Redskins and Giants - to ask for permission to speak to him - have said they have heard nothing of it. Would be stunned if somehow it was taking place without them knowing. Are like 99 percent sure it's not happening ... but I can not say I have that last 1 percent accounted for, so again, take that as it is. Also, Russ Grimm's name keeps popping up out there. Spoke to someone close to him who chatted with Russ today, as the Arizona assistant was flying to the Senior Bowl in Mobile. Any possible interview with Grimm remains unconfirmed - I continue to hear he and his agent have told people there was no interview with Snyder - and Russ has heard nothing from the Redskins recently, according to the source. So I'll keep chasing everything down and figuring out what, if anything, the Redskins are up to. All of my reporting thus far has continued to lead to Williams, and we'll see if that changes as this thing drags out.
