Zorn becomes SKINS new OC.

The funny thing is this move still tells us nothing about the potential HC since GW and Fassel reportedly were both high on Zorn.

I guess an offensive coach is not going to be hired b/c they'd bring in their own system

Why would we hire an o coord before a hc? Might be a wink/wink deal w/ Spagnuolo.

its obvious this move means that its gonna either be GW or Fossil, both have given Snyder and Cerrato an OK with Zorn

I still don't understand the FO hiring Zorn unless they already have a HC. The HC is supposed to hire their staff!!! Maybe this will iron itself out, but i don't quite understand this move.

With all this, I still don't understand why the FO is intent on getting rid of Al Saunders, who's history, is one of an annual top 5 or 10 offense. It's clear that the Redskins talent is mediocre not the coaching. I don't think DS or VC can see this thru their burgundy colored glasses. Al Saunders is a great O coach. Sad to see him go.

Why do we now wait for Spagnuola to interview? If he's hired he might not want Zorn unless it's already been spoken about.

As Chris Landry said on the radio...as he laughed...it starts at the top and right now we need a football guy to make football decisions. He stated that the problem isn't our coaches b/c right now we have some of the best coaches in the league. Talent wise we're still somewhere around average.

How true. It looks like DS's making the decisions not a football guy. Sorry to be so negative, Zorn, from what I've heard is pretty impressive/hard working guy. He could turn out to be good. I just don't agree w/ hiring a staff before a HC. I also don't think alot of guys are better than Al Saunders. If so, i'd challenge anyone to name them.

Zorn is 54; 6 years younger than Saunders, and 5 years older than Gregg Williams.

Is it possible for a new OC to adopt the complete 700 page playbook from the old OC?

I'm sure it would be easier for Zorn to adapt than all 22 Offensive players to change, don't you think?

Not that he would of course use all 700 pages, but gosh it seems an awful waste of good paper!

Let's hypothetically assume that Snyder is putting all his eggs in the Fassel basket. What if Fassel has a sudden change of heart about coaching here? Where does that leave us? You ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS lock down the head coach FIRST, then let him assemble his staff. With the Zorn signing, we can stop speculating about McDaniel and Spagnuolo as candidates, because I can't imagine either interviewing for an owner who took the prerogative to assemble the coaching staff prior to their interview.

If there is one thing that i trust about danny boy is that he gets what he wants. I'm not saying his decisions are always the smart ones but he does get what he wants. If danny is putting his eggs in one basket, he isn't going to drop that basket.

I don't know though. We will have to see what happens but i do agree with you that Spagnuolo probably won't be our coach. I would think snyder has it narrowed down to just the people who have told him that they like zorn. So i don't know why we might be waiting two weeks. It seems snyder already knows who will be the next coach.

I'm betting there already is a coach. Maybe the paperwork has not been signed but why would anyone want to go to a job not knowing who your boss is? or I should say who you are directly answering to. What if it turned out to be someone you never wanted to work for or dispised? I'm betting the co ordinaters who will be coming in know. I think DS is waiting for all the puzzle pieces to fall into place and then make one announcement. While waving good bye to the out going staff.
