Shawn Springs however did not practice, and will be a game time decision.

Springs to Be a Game-Time Decision (Updated) - Redskins Insider

OK, now I feel better about this game. Any big name on D was out and Portis was looking bad with the hip flexor. IF they are practicing today, they should be fine come Sunday. Still sort of worried about our secondary though. Sure they practiced, but are they healthy enough to contain Stallworth and Edwards?

Re: Skins vs. Browns

im very concerned. i know cleveland has seen our injury list, and with a very beat up secondary, (all 3 of our starting CBs, and starting safety) you have to believe theyre going to test us all day in the passing game. plus, if springs is out, who is going to match up with braylon edwards? i know carlos rogers did a very good job stopping T.O. in dallas, but remember, spring held him to only 2 catches, carlos let him get 5 more. if carlos had covered him all day, isnt that speculation to believe TO could have had 10 or more? dont get me wrong, i love carlos rogers. hes very quality guy, who is extremely underrated, but at the same time, braylons edwards is very physical, and has about 4 inches and some weight on rogers. Hate to say it, but i feel like this game will be a very hard fought win. I know these are common sense, but ill post them anyway.

5 Keys to the game

Redskins can not, absolutely not give up a turn over. we all saw what happens when your offense gives the ball right back to the opposing team.

Controlling the clock with the run game.
redskins need to run the ball effectively, and nickel and dime their way downfield to get into scoring range. If they can keep the Browns defense on the field the majority of the game, wear them down so they are exhausted in the 4th quarter, we keep their offense off the field, leaving less chances to score.

Continue Jason Campbells INT-free streak.
The Browns have a very underrated secondary, 11th in the leauge. they picked off the reigning superbowl MVP last monday 3 times, one for a score. we all know Eli is a goof, and a little overrated, but we cant just assume the browns were getting the picks on "pure luck"

The lack of pass rush
The redskins have got to get pressure on Anderson. the redskins only have 8 sacks in 6 games and are ranked 26th in sacks. this coming from a redskins team that was a sub-par 16th in the league last year. with andre carter and jason taylor both posting double digit sacks last year, you would at least think the redskins defense would be putting the opposing QBs on their backs more than a measly once or twice a game. with the beat up secondary, well have to rely on our front four and an occasional blitz or two to come up with sacks to create loss of downs and loss of yardage situations, to get their offense off the field.

Special teams.
the redskins are actually 2nd in the league in kickoffs, keeping their opponents at bay, but our punting unit is ranked 31st. i know youre going to say "BUT WE DONT HAVE BROOKS ANYMORE!". ok, ill go with you on that one, but thats only part of it. dont forget were picking up a punter who was booted in his first game this season, but you know what, im with you on this one. Ill take anyone for a punter.. yes, even cooley. our special teams has got to hold them deep in their own territory on kickoffs AND punts. hold them in their own territory, keep them out of scoring range, and force them to punt to us in good field position.

sorry for the long post.

Re: Skins vs. Browns

Once again I am scared about this game. I lacked confidence going into the Rams games and all my friends said I was crazy. Our secondary is nicked up and the Browns can pass the ball all over the field.Winslow will be playing and all older Skins fans know that good TE's always give us problems for some odd reason. But like any game there are things that we must prepare for to be ready for the game.

1) Braylon Edwards. This guy is the future of NFL recievers. 6'3", physical, with good speed and body control. We will have to shadow him with a safety to make sure he doesn't get out of control on second and third down.
2) Jamal Lewis. Imagine a lighter Mike Sellers with more speed. ENOUGH SAID!!
3) Pressure on Derek Anderson. As if this needs repeating, THE REDSKINS MUST PRESSURE THE QUARTERBACK WITH THEIR FRONT FOUR TO CAUSE TURNOVERS!!! Earth to Blache- BLITZ
4) Portis,Portis,Portis. He's acting like a grown man on Sundays. GIVE HIM THE PILL WHENEVER HE WANTS IT
5) Keep Campbells jersey clean. Football players know what I mean
6) The most important thing. REALLY TAKE IT PERSONALLY THAT A INFERIOR TEAM BEAT YOU LAST WEEK AND REMEMBER THAT IN THIS LEAGUE THE BEST TEAM NEVER WINS. THE TEAM THAT EXECUTES THE BEST DOES

Re: Skins vs. Browns

Look... if we lose the turn over battle, we loose.

If we can run for over 150 yards, we win.

If both happen... may God have mercy on our soals. Who knows.

Re: Skins vs. Browns

The Browns are a good team. But that 14-11 game was one I could never have predicted. I loved the way the defense played, and I thought the offense was good, especially the running game. I was more scared of this game than any other that the Skins have played.
