As for Kiper's pick, it's not a terrible choice I suppose. He's a solid pass rusher and steady against the run. I'm of the belief that yes we need a pass rusher but not at the expense of a solid run stopper. We like to knock on guys like Daniels and Wynn because they were run-stopping defensive ends, which is almost a euphemsym for "can't rush the passer", but I think we need guys like that. I like someone like Tyson Jackson for example, not at the #13 spot.
I know Rogers is a nice trade chip but that's exactly why we shouldn't trade him. Basically we traded our #2 pick for a washed up thirtysomething DE...and now to remedy it we are going to trade away our top CB in his prime to get that draft pick back? That is the assinine of all assinine moves!

I know your not endorcing this move...so i am not ranting at you...I am just ranting in general! What an awful line of thinking...

Well I don't agree that Jason Taylor was a washed up but I see your point. If I were a betting man, I'd say Rogers ends up not getting traded unless they get more than a 2nd round pick.

Washed up may have been a bad choice of words but he's an older player. Anyway, I can live with it if they get a #1 for him although I still don't think I would do it.

Being that your "guesses" always seem pretty well educated SS... that is the best news of the day as far as i'm concerned.

Re: Brian Cushing

Just know that when I say more than a 2nd round pick that I don't necessarily mean higher than a 2nd round pick.

But truthfully I've heard very little about Rogers the past couple of days. Hoping to get some info later today actually

Re: Brian Cushing

I get the sense that we could trade Rogers to the Broncos for Ryan Clady and three 1st round picks...and we'll still find a way to bash the front office for being incompetent

lol...you may be right! Well I think we spent the 9th pick on him and IMO he has played well enough to still hold at least mid 1st round value. So if they are going to trade him I would want his real value not some reduced we need to recoup lost draft pick value. That's all. I don't think we can get that value but that's what i would want to move him. And our front office has not exactly earned the benefit of the doubt in the past 10 years.

Why not four first round picks?

Re: Brian Cushing

Word is Alex Mack is moving up toward the top of the Redskins draft board, for what it's worth. Remember it's still early

I would hope if we take him it would be in a trade-down situation. I'd love to have him, but I haven't seen any mock drafts with him going in the 1st round, let alone as high as 13.

I like him, and I've seen him creepin' up in the 1st round of mock drafts...but I bet if he finishes out strong this week and has a good game this weekend, and has good combine numbers in 2 months, then i could see him goin' up to mid first round...fills a need for the skins and can start all along the interior, don't need to re-sign Kendall...possibly start over Rabach, if not, then at LG...but depends how Rinehart is lookin' and if any of the top OTs are still available

Yeah, he's apparently being considered (not only by the Skins but several teams) more for his abilities as a Guard than a Center.

Mack, Cushing, Matthews, are the three guys (best as I could figure out) that most intrigued the Skins this week. But you never know really. I think VC feels it's a pretty weak year for offensive linemen. Weak in the sense that if you don't get one early then you're pretty much wasting your time. I disagree, I think it's a very deep OL class. But I'm not calling the shots...yet

Seriously though, this could mean they're thinking get that OL in the first round then trade into some point in the second and hope that Cushing or Matthews are there?

Love the offseason!
