Out of curiosity what is your opinion of Eli Manning and Ben Rothlesberger (prior to last year)?

Exactly the Eagles philosophy. Now, is McNabb satisfied with making average talent at WR look better? Didn't think so, and who could blame him? Not to mention T.O gave every QB he's played for career years, and that includes McNabb.

I'm not a Jason Campbell fan by any means but for the sake of the Redskins as a team, I hope he succeeds. No more excuses for his slow release, inability to read a defense, his inaccuracy in his passing game and poor decisions. No more excuses about the offensive line as other teams and one in particular, that made it to the Super Bowl, had protection problems similar to ours also.
Improvement in of itself will not be enough to justify JC as the "Franchise QB". It's time for the team to rely and depend on his play and ability to lead this team. The pieces are there, it's up to him to be able to know how to manipulate and use them to his advantage.

See here's what I don't really get. Not everyone has to like all the players on your team, but virtually all observers, analysts and opposing coaches acknowledged last year that Campbell made great strides last year in speeding up his release, ball protection, accuracy and making decisions. He's far from a finished product and his 2nd half wasn't as good as his 1st half, but neither was anyone else's on our offense. Can you honestly say you saw no improvement in his game in '08.

Why can't even the detractors recognize progress and while hoping for continued improvement not rehash old inaccurate criticisms? For example, 'inability to read a defense' usually correlates to a lot of interceptions, which we obviously know that JC didn't commit this year. It's just frustrating to hear 'fans' echo the clueless comments from national reporters who don't watch the team.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Re: Has Zorn already hand picked the QB for his offense?

I am sure most of this is re-hash:
Last off season, JZ took over and had to learn a whole new skill set, he had JC as his starter. The first day of training camp(something JZ had never had to run before) a defensive starter and his backup went down with injury. JZ had a whole team to worry about, and he had a stable qb situation. Now the 1st game of the season, JC absolutely locks on to Moss, and basically the game is a non-starter. JZ and JC identified that issue, worked on it, and by mid-season most everyone agreed that this was a non issue.
Now it is JZ's 2nd season, and he has stated, he is much more comfortable, he knows his people, they know him, I would expect that his QB plans would be laid out to continue building on the foundations laid last year.

All of this is to say that i agree with Paintrain's last statement:

BS, He's already been through a year of Jim Zorn's sliding school, featuring the slip n slide.

When I'm stricken with a terminal disease, I'm really going to miss Colt Brennan threads.
