Wow if the Lions give up a lot for this guy (Cutler) instead of going OT, they are on route to becoming the next Washington Redskins.(building from the outside in)

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

I want cutler. Look at his numbers. If you think jc is a better qb for us you're out of your mind. What do you think of this trade. Skins get cutler. Denver gets Quinn and Shaun rogers from cleaveland. Cleaveland gets scheffler from Denver, a first round pick from the skins and Campbell. It's a win win for everybody. If Denver doesn't think it's getting enough throw in a third or fourth rounder from the browns or from the skins, whatever it takes. And don't give me that bs that we won't fit under the cap. If vc or ds want sethinf bad enough they will find a way. I think this will work because Denver gets rid of it's headache at qb and a te whose name has been floating around as trade bait and get a qb who knows mcdaniels system and an all pro dl. Cleveland loses a headache at dl and a qb who might sit the bench and get a good pass catching te who can step in for winslow, a solid backup qb for Anderson and a first rounder. And the skins get their franchise qb for a first round pick and a lame duck qb who we won't give an extension to. Sounds good to me

lol, as you were saying.. ProFootballTalk.com - Report: Redskins “Among The Leading Candidates” To Get Cutler

Not only does he say we are leading candidates for Cutler BUT that we are also after Shanahan. Amazing.

In all seriousness, I could see Jerry Jones making a play for a Shanahan/Cutler tandem. and that would not make me happy.

I agree with Goat, I hate this thread (and all it's derivatives).

As you say, Cutler IS an upgrade over Campbell. But would giving up Campbell AND the high quality picks/players it would take to get Cutler be an upgrade for the Redskins as a team? No sir.
Nailed it. End of thread, nothing more to see here folks.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

I swear if this "Cutler to the Redskins" thing becomes a (sad) reality, I may have to swallow my pride and accept Mike Florio's reporting. With that being said, Florio is the only one reporting about the Redskins, everybody else has the Jets as the #1 contender (especially since they made inquiries about Cutler on March 23rd according to the New York Daily and are now heavily pursuing a trade).

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

This is going to happen folks with us getting Cutler and I could not be any happier. I mean he is a proven signal caller which could get this offense moving in the right direction. Jason Campbell is not in the quarterback for our west coast system. Cutler will at least get defenses from stacking the box so that Portis and the running backs can have some room. I just do not want to give up a ton to get this guy. Franchise quarterbacks are not a a dime in a dozen. Cutler is proven and my boy Sanchez is not, so I would be okay with Cutler who seems to be a fit for a west coast quarterback.

Well given the fact that one of the teams interested in Cutler has the #1 overall pick, I would say that giving up a ton is going to happen. This why I don't understand people like you who feel that Cutler is going to fix everything since we will most likely lose our our current starting QB, an either our #13 pick (or multiple future picks) or one of our top players (Cooley/Landry/etc.).

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

They need to send him to Detroit. Going to one of the crappiest cities in the USA to play for the worst-run team in the NFL will really make him realize how good he had it in Denver.

Then he'll have something to cry about.

I DO NOT WANT HIM HERE.

I predict Detroit, Tampa or the Jets will get him.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

Am i the only one that finds it really really REALLY suspicious that all these rumors (pertaining to the skins and Cutler) are heating up on April Fools day? Im not dismissing the notion that Cutler is on the trading block, but so far, no reputable sources are legitimately saying the skins are interested in a manner that cant be passed off later as just an april fools joke.

That said, I'm not a fan of Campbell and a couple weeks ago I was adamant in my desire to acquire Cutler at all costs.... but that all ended for me the second it was reported that Cutler - a diabetic - has an alcohol problem. Not to be insensitive, but I dont want to trade anything for a guy who is likely to be unable to play football - if not dead - in a couple years. I still dont like Campbell as our QB of the future, but the risk in acquiring Cutler is just too high now. The potential rewards for such a move have greatly diminished. If he were a free agent, the story would be different, but I wouldnt give up what is likely going to be required to acquire Cutler. He's simply not worth the risk.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

If they can get him without giving up Landry, Cooley or this years 1st round pick that'd be sweet. Campbell and next years 1st round and another draft pick. I doubt we'll get him though. I dont see Campbell taking this or any team anywhere though.
