Re: Colt Brennan Says He'll "Play A Ton" In The Preseason

Colt did in 3 yrs what Chang did in 5 plus Colt set the all time comp % record while Chang is known for setting the record for most ints with 80.. thats a big difference in the 2 if you ask me.

and ppl can say what they want about JC but in REALITY he has done the same things in the pros that ppl said were his flaws in college. thats why i posted the scouting report. And the video on NFL Network proves what i said of JC not pushing the ball downfield and checking down when we needed a play to keep the drives going.

It doesn't matter what either Colt or Chang did in college. They both played in a system designed to over-inflate their numbers and played against weak competition. The differences between the two could arise simply from different supporting casts. But, back to the point, neither's numbers matter at all at the pro level. David Klingler, Andre Ware, and Tim Couch also all put up ridiculous numbers in college but flopped as pros.

And your "source" also said Peyton relies on the talent around him to win and he just plays not to lose and is asked not to make mistakes. Thats a joke if you ask me. Manning carries that team.

OK so Tebow who plays in the same SYSTEM that gave us ALEX SMITH needs to just bypass the draft and go home after greduation. many would disagree

JC has improved each yr, yeah he threw 1 more td last yr than he did the yr before. So in 8 more yrs he will throw 20 tds in a season. lets be patient.

REALLY PATIENT

You forgot to tell us that JC threw 5 fewer interceptions last year, despite more attempts, and his passer rating went up seven points. He also reduced his fumbles. That's improvement.

You also forgot to tell us that last year was JC's first full year as a starter. Many top QB's take several full years as a starter to develop. Therefore, not much patience has been asked of us so far.

Improvement with JC will be when he gets us in the playoffs not increasing his TDs by a few and decreasing his ints by a few

You didn't read redskinsgirl's fine post above, did you?

While I would love for JC to be our leader in the playoffs, there are 21 other positions on the field which your comment doesn't account for.

I could care less you all think Jason is the answer...I got news for you all...he's not..like I've said before and I'll say it again Jason is a conservative QB, in order to win in this league you need to take chances, which is not what JC does

I think it's time to move on to either Colt or Chase.

I think Colt will have his chance, though that may not be this year. I figure if he doesn't make #2 this year, he definitely will next year. Collins is an old man, with a noodle arm (though a decently accurate one). Collins though, unlike Colt has proven himself as a solid backup.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Colt a potential future face of the franchise, but like I said in another thread, with some more fine tuning, and the possibility of JC bombing at QB this year (though I definitely don't wish that upon the team. I'd like to witness a Skins Superbowl for once in my life), who knows what could happen.

Re: Colt Brennan Says He'll "Play A Ton" In The Preseason

I'd like to see someone, Colt or Chase, emerge enough to allow the team to feel comfortable enough to move Collins out of here. I like Collins and what he did for us in 2007, but I'd like to see us move forward without him as we are doing with guys like Jansen and Thrash (and maybe Rock?).

I think Colt and Chase are both very intriguing prospects who have the potential to be backup QBs in this league, and maybe even starters - Chase will be a Hall of Famer of course - but I don't think this team would be better off with either of them starting this year than Jason Campbell. I think he's our best chance

I think Colt having a stellar preseason is the best thing that can happen to Chase. If Colt emerges as a solid #2 option, there's no reason to keep Collins around as a 38 year old, $3M/yr emergency guy.

5 fewer ints isnt much when i just showed that he checksdown to guys 3-5 yds short of the first down and has HORRID stats on 3rd down.
