It is better this way. THis way we do not get a false sense of improved play and the SKins can be assured a higher draft pick.
The one thing that cemented it for me and proves the players on this team except for maybe Haynesworth have losers mentality: when losing by three or more TD's, Santana Moss made a first down completion and spun the ball and started celebrating. Santana Moss YOU ARE AN IDIOT! You do not celebrate when losing that bad. Besides not having the talent, these players do not know what it means to be a winner.

I think the biggest problem was the coaching.

As SS said in his first post, we were badly outcoached on both sides of the ball early in the game. Their gameplan, playcalling and execution was perfect while we didn't seem to have a clue what we were doing.

Looking back, the first game with the Giants was very similar. The only reason the score on that occasion didn't reflect their overwhelming superiority was because of them not finishing their drives as well as they did last night.

Obviously when you get a team with nothing to play for down early against a team with everything to play for it's likely to get ugly.

I'm hopeful we can bounce back next week and show some of the spirit that we have in the previous few games.

It's just pathetic how this coaching staff can't adjust to game situations. In offense, the coaching staff for some reason thought the line would hold, and it didn't...on defense, they kept getting burned by screen passes, yet kept blitzing like crazy.

Two things:

1) Why weren't the Refs not calling all the holding calls? I'm not trying to make excuses for the defense. We had major issues last night, but on almost every play the Giants RG #76 was holding. I also thought I saw Carter being held most of the evening. It doesn't explain why the offense sucked.

2) Sorry to say I didn't see the second half of the game. I figured if the team was not going to show up then I didn't need to either. Bring on Dallas.

Haynesworth apparently said that from what he's seen we can play football.. but it's definitely not showing in our record and that game.. says that people are going in all different directions and what the team needs is a leader that can get them all working together.

I assume he's referring to coaching deficiencies?

...Here's how Zorn described the play: “It was good defense. That’s what hurt that play. I contemplated going back, after [Tom Coughlin] called timeout, and kicking the field goal. The play was unique enough to where I didn’t think they saw what we were really trying to do and then they smelled it out pretty quickly, we didn’t really have a chance to get it started.”

The man needs firing. At this point, who does Zorn think he's fooling? he might as well just blame it on the thetons.

I just hope whoever comes in cleans house and has this team acting like a team. I pray next year the HC has this team playing well and we run up the score on the Giants in both games just to humiliate them, especially on their turf.

Honestly I kinda liked the fake field goal, but after the time out was called I figured it wouldn't work. Watching the play develope it still would have worked had we actually had a QB as our holding specialist instead of the punter. I'm not sure who it was but we had on player behind all the Giants players and if the ball was thrown better into the corner of the endzone he would have had a TD. All the Kicker needed to do was roll out more to his left and pass it farther. I think his arm was hit at release though.

In a nutshell trick plays are used by despirate teams making a despirate attempt to win the game. Most HC 's only use them when their down by 1 score and are in a must win situation. Not when they are down by 3 or 4 scores already.

While I may agree with the whole "what's 3 points when you are playing this poorly?" but one of the things that usually work for trick play is the element of surprise, which obviously was gone. Apparently Zorn was absent the day they taught that in coaching school.

Yeah I guess it did make Zorn look stupid but how many times can a man get shit on before he cracks?
