Re: Jason campbells trade value
Anyone who argues that JC has no value is a moron. IMO.
He isn't a great quarterback, far from it, but he has a plus NFL arm, very good character, is very mobile when used correctly and has been battle tested. Half the qb's in this upcoming draft will shit themselves every single time they step on the NFL stage. They will be eaten alive. JC has been in the fight. He is tough as hell. JC clearly has problems breaking down certain coverage schemes at NFL speed, but there are maybe ten or twelve quarterbacks on the planet who can do that trick very well. Give the guy a year to work with this particular coach and his offensive minded son/ or trade him for a third and a sixth. There are teams that will give us draft picks for JC, but not really good picks and that's why I argue that we keep him! |

There are a few more teams I can think of, Carolina/KC(if they can unload Cassel)/Seattle?/Browns/Cardinals(if KW retires)/Rams(if Bulger retires)/Tampa/Da Raiders... wow this list keeps getting longer the more I think of teams with QB issues. I couldn't imagine trading for picks unless we got at least a 2. Otherwise keep him for a year and draft a QB in the 4th. Okung for LT in 2010! |

Re: Jason campbells trade value
Honestly i think theyre both comparable players at this point... although Campbell has more experience.

Re: Jason campbells trade value
As much as I like JC, right now there is no trade value for him. As sad as it is, if he doesn't come in and really shine for Washington next year, he is going to be a backup for the rest of his career.

Every professional who i have read or listened to agree that Campbell is probably a mediocre starting QB in this league. That means that the consens is that 1) He can start in this league. 2) He would represent an upgrade to atleast 5-10 teams in the league. Even his biggest detractors think he's a quality backup at worst. Even backup QBs can be traded. There IS trade value in Campbell. It just a question of what that value is.
