ever hear of charles barkley? he was listed at 6'6" but probably wasn't even that tall. Why do you think they called him the Round Mound of Rebound.

And I'm not saying Peppers would've been a NBA HOFer but I'd bet he'd be a double-double guy (12ppg/10 rebound average) which is pretty good.

He hates dropping back in coverage, which what he did from time to time in Charlotte. I can't see him loving it in the 3-4 either. I think he invisions himself as a 100% rush end and its not going to be that way, not with orakpo on the other side. I am just not hyped on this guy like everyone else. Plus he's 30, so he has a few years left but not really high productive years. He will end up signing like a 7 year deal probably and void after 4, which leaves us with all that money assuming the cap comes back.
i would much rather see money spent on top notch corner or olineman, not another 30something player looking for the big payday

Yeah i argue with the Panther fans. The guy is dominant we will see this year how the Panthers look without him. Teams can avoid him but it limits what they can do on offense. Again they wanted 2 first rounders for him. That says enough to me.

Daniel Snyder loves to spend big money on big names. So I fully expect him to sign Peppers, Dansby, and Rolle. Offensive line be damned.

But why do these signing negate OL signings? And IF the big names were OL would you be hatin cuz they were looking at them?

All I'm saying with Orakpo is that he's better at his true position, RDE. Make no mistake though, Ware and Orakpo are very different. Ware is quicker and faster. Orakpo is stronger. In a 3-4, the opposing O can scheme to put Orakpo in coverage in certain situations, he's more of a liability in space than Ware would be. As a 4-3 RDE, he won't be in that situation. By the same token, I don't want a 250 lb. Ware with his hand on the ground trying to stop the run against 300+ lb Tackles.

But as Lotus mentioned, we need to get used to the 3-4 cause it certainly appears to be coming whether we like it or not and Orakpo will be at OLB.

bottom line is: there are more quality defensive free agents than offensive at this point. I'm sure we'll see the market flood with quality OL as teams purge bad contracts so we could get lucky.

If we sign defensive players through FA we can use our draft picks for the offense. If we went OL with the first two picks (there's two more starters...probably.) leaving us with only one spot to fill and I'm sure there will be someone we can sign.

They're still having the NFL Draft this year, right? One of the big issues often mentioned here is "our OL sucks, we never addressed it in the draft".

Cerrato's gone, Snyder's given the keys to the kingdom to ShanaAllen. Let's give them a little bit of a chance (even if they switch us to a 3-4 ).

I want to hear some chatter about us signing the top free agent offensive lineman that's all. Defense should be the least of our concerns right now since our biggest problem is consistently scoring.

It's looking like Rolle is going to stay with Cardinals; they are trying to restructure and extend Rolle's contract, based on this source..

Hmm, while the reports of Peppers not giving 100% is concerning, isn't he a 'Skins fan? Maybe all he needs is a change of scenery.

I would love to see Sproles in a Redskins uniform before Peppers.

Sproles and Dansby are the most interesting "top tier" free agents to me. If we overspend for anyone, it should be Dansby. we need linebackers.

if we're going to move fast, i'd want to lock up dansby first. I wouldn't mind waking up saturday morning and hearing it's a done deal.

So what FA OL is there right now? I know GB's, but I think they locked him up (could be wrong). It's just that the top FA's are on defense, just our luck ... DN's point was dead on, if we fill the D holes, even with short term FA contracts, that lets us focus our draft even more on OL. We want our FO to be considering all of the options and available players to improve the Skins whole team.
