Re: MAD about Mad Men
Bumping an old thread...but Mad Men-FINALLY-returns this Sunday night.
And I can't wait! Been watching some previous season episodes in anticipation. Wonder if Don and Betty reunite?

Re: MAD about Mad Men
Any one watch?
Nothing ground breaking in the first show. Still I was entertained the whole two hours. I felt like I was just catching up with old friends. That is the power of those characters. One dagger though, no Betty. God I need a Betty fix!

It was definitely a "let's get reacquainted" episode. Still it was pretty awesome. Loved when Roger Sterling went to Staten Island at 6am Need my Betty fix too.

Re: MAD about Mad Men
When Megan went out on the deck after Don gave her the "talk" about surprise parties. Did part of you think she was going to jump? I did.

Re: MAD about Mad Men
Kiss kiss kiss etc.
My God, how soft they are! Kiss kiss kiss etc. The sound of kisses! In the bushes, under the August sky Lovers glide stealthily Like birds, they have dates Everywhere you hear: Kiss kiss kiss etc. My God, how soft they are! But tell me, do you know What that means, between us, What does “zou bisou” mean? It means, I confess to you, But yes, I love only you! Kiss kiss kiss etc. My God, how soft it is! But no need for bushes in the month of August When you kiss me softly on the neck! It’s funny, you see, I confess, I feel it everywhere Kiss kiss kiss etc. My God, how soft it is! Kiss kiss kiss etc. Little kisses Kiss kiss kiss

Re: MAD about Mad Men
Yeah...still doesn't compare to Megan's performance.
I liked how you can see the definite change (set wise) to the late 60s, especially in Don's new apartment

Re: MAD about Mad Men
School me on why I should be watching this show. Sounds a bit soap opera-ish the way you guys talk about it, lol. I've had it on my Netflix queue for a while now, just haven't pulled the trigger.

Re: MAD about Mad Men
Well, on an episode per episode basis not much seemingly happens but then when you look back over several episodes you realize a lot happens.
The way the episodes tend to sometimes end suddenly is part of what I like about it. The problems aren't nicely wrapped up in a bow at the end of the episodes. The characters are almost all compelling, the protagonist "Don Draper" has arguably as many, if not more flaws, than anyone else. He's like Breaking Bad's Walt in many ways. The writing flows smoothly and there aren't many, if any, wasted dialogues. I don't know what show to compare it to, but I highly highly recommend it.

Re: MAD about Mad Men
In terms of TV series: Breaking Bad, The Wire, Mad Men...and not necessarily in that order.
