Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
Rah rah Vince Young has never been good rah rah arrgh!
To believe that Vince Young has never been good you're forced to disregard Win/Loss: 26-13 You would also have to disregard his 2010/9 stats: 2010-59.6 comp%-10 TDs-3 INTs-8.0 YPA-98.6 QBR 24% of rushes result in 1st downs/25 atts 2009-58.7 comp%-10 TDs-7 INTs-7.3 YPA-82.8 QBR You would have to disregard him being a 2-Time Pro-Bowler. There is too much you have to disregard from a football stand point that preclude the statement Vince Young has never been good from being true to the point that it makes you lose credibility. Now, if you want to say Vince Young appears to be a bad fit for Kyle's offense, I would agree. If you want to say that Vince Young is thin skinned, I would agree. On the flip side you would also have to question wether the FO other then owner were ever really 100% behind Vince and what type of impact that has on a QB or team leader. The HC-OC/QB coach relationship is like a boxer/trainer. If the trainer doesn't have faith in the boxer you greatly limit that's boxer's potential. |

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
until Young gets his head on straight,I say NO!.If the skins draft a QB #1 I thought the plan was bring back grossman until the rookie was ready?Palmer is not leaving cincy, hasselback won't leave seattle, kolb is over priced.

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
All of them are suspect, but Kolb at this point of time is the best choice. If this poll was given 5 years ago, I would have said Bulger. Young would have had to have one more season back as a starter to convince me he has matured into a bona fide starter.

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
Bulger is old enough to be most of our grandfathers. He's going to get his AARP card and a cane next year. The only way we should sign him is to a one day contract with the agreement that he promptly retires.
Alex Smith SUCKS. Hasselbackbeck is getting old and injury prone. Kolb costs too much and I'll never be okay with a QB trade from the Eagles again. Carson Palmer can eat me. VY has great upside comparatively but a weak psyche. None of these are viable options for us IMO. Except Orton, who no one but me and Skinsfaninok talk about since he's not officially being shopped. We need a QB in the draft. Trading for a FA QB ain't gonna do jack, JACK! Kaepernick. WINNING!!! All I'm saying...

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
Colin Kaepernick:
Overview Versatile, athletic, and productive leader who has led Nevada as a four-year starter. He has accounted for over 14,000 yards and 140 TDs (59 rushing, 81 passing) in his storied career and the first player to ever pass for more than 2000 yards and run for more than 1000 yards in three consecutive seasons. 1st Team All-WAC in 2010 (and Co-Offensive Player of the Year), Manning Award Finalist, and leader in most all offensive categories. In 2009, was a 2nd Team All-WAC performer who accounted for 37 TDs (17 rushing, 20 passing) and 3,235 total yards (1183 rushing, 2052 passing). Selected in the 2009 Amatuer Draft by the Chicago Cubs as a pitcher and has been clocked in the high 90s. Was WAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and WAC Freshman of the Year in 2007. Senior and Shrine Bowl invitee. Strengths Strong arm with great velocity and very accurate - career passer rating of 143.2 - also able to be accurate on the run and as well as in the pocket. Height allows great visibility. Has developed into a pass-first player, despite great rushing stats (which is an artifact of the pistol offense that takes advantage of his running ability.) Makes excellent decisions, with just 23 career interceptions in 1238 throws with 81 TDs in 50 games. Has great leadership and competitive nature that is necessary in a quarterback. Extremely durable and tough considering the number of carries and games he has played. Weaknesses Nevada's pistol offense has not prepared him with drop-back reads that NFL QBs must make and has limited his experience under-center. 'Wind-mill' style throwing motion slows his release. Quality of competition may also figure against him in GM's minds. Projection Late 1st or early 2nd round. Had solid performance at Senior Bowl. Showed great athleticism at Combine - probably early second round, with slight chance for late first. I can see Shanny liking this guy.

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
I've only been saying these things for months about him... It's weird. This is the second thread I've read today that everyone is singing his praises all of a sudden. Ya'll need to read my posts sooner. lol

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
I'd really never heard of him until reading your posts SkinzWin and it did peak my interest. Still only know what I read about him but what I read about him is pretty good. You may be onto something.

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
I appreciate your kind words. I think it will probably be a long shot to actually draft him but I think it would be incredibly smart for us. I just feel like I see a young Donovan McNabb in him when he extends plays.

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll
Is Kolb really winning this poll or is this another April Fools joke?
