And JJ Abrams had nothing to do with Lost after creating it. He moved on to directing MI:III and never came back. |

Candidly speaking, the website wouldn't hurt significantly without him. I have mixed feelings on him

ESPN use to be my go to site for Sports but I find SI.com way better IMO. They generally have better coverage and better writers, like Peter King. I also love Extra Mustard. ESPN.com is just so "meh", of late. Bill S. to me is really the only thing that draws me to ESPN.com anymore. I don't mean to dig at you SS just my opinion. Also I bumped this thread for Breaking Bad and everyone ignored me, fawk this place! =)

That said, people mainly just go to Extra Mustard to see the pictures of the girls not for sports info. And I think ESPN has some outstanding writers. Our problem is information overload, a lot of the good material is buried. It's a constant struggle to find the right way to present our best info. I tend to go to places like CSNWashington and SB Nation DC for my sports because I want to read about my local teams and ESPN can't provide analysis and info at the level of detail those sites can. Anyhow, as for Breaking Bad. I keep wanting to watch that show. I saw the first episode a couple of years ago and liked it but never stayed with the show. As for The Killing, is season 2 next summer?

That is it in a nutshell! Exactly why I have trouble with that site. you must work there or something. =) Honestly do yourself a favor and watch Breaking Bad you will love it. The 1st season is really short. 2 and 3 are only like 13 episodes. IT is fun to watch on DVD becasue you can marathon them and a lot of the plot will pull from way back, that way it is fresh in your memory. As far as the Killing I am unsure of it's return.

In season three (no spoiler really) I thought they did a great job at the beginning of one episode when they showed Walt and Sky buying their house. Walt was just such a dreamer then and full of hope(like many young family men). It also showed how you may think your life is going to be A but it really never pans out that way and you end with your life being like Y by the time it is all figured out. Like Walt saying the house was to small and they were going to have 5 children and all this other stuff. When in reality his son has MS, his 2 children are 16 years apart, he is fighting cancer, and is just a high school teacher. That is not even throwing in his drug career.

Also, the character evolution is really well thought out and organic, There have only been about 30 episodes but the characters are really different now from how they started, but in a totally believable way. Seriously SS, catch up on Netflix or whatever in time for the new season!

And I'm not really a JJ Abrams hater- in fact, I love all his movies and Fringe is ridiculously cool. Lost was a huge letdown the last few seasons. And cliffhangers are what defined the show, so I'm not sure why people are mad at Killing- viewers should have expected it after the first few eps ended similarly. Be mad at AMC, not the writers. (Lost Spoiler) I specifically remember the Lost writers denying fan theories that the passengers had all died with the crash after the first episode. Now that's a straight up mislead! |

Re: Official The Killing Thread (Warning: Potential Spoilers)
Not to extend the debate about Lost in this thread but NONE of the characters died in the crash.

I still ain't down with all the major questions left in the air, however. Sorry for extending the Lost blather... time to / it. SS, please start Breaking Bad when you get the chance... I think this board needs its own BB thread and it won't be the same without you! |

Re: Official The Killing Thread (Warning: Potential Spoilers)
If I start with Season 3 would I be totally lost. And if I just watch Season 3 and have y'all catch me up on Seasons 1 and 2 would that work?
Either way, go ahead and start a Breaking Bad thread if you wish.

Re: Official The Killing Thread (Warning: Potential Spoilers)
Yeah, it's best to start from the beginning on this one... maybe you can catch up before Season 5.
