I'd be calling for his ass too. This is one of those things I draw the line on.

The fact that the graduate assistant (a 28 year old man at the time) walked into shower room and saw Sandusky bending over a 10 year old and didn't go straight to the cops.... WTF? Or the fact that the university knew this stuff was going on and all they did was take Sandusky's keys?

It's a shame a coach that has done so much good for the sport is gonna go out like this... but I don't see how this doesn't end with Joe Pa stepping down. It has too.
Exactly , well put Scud . I hope Sandusky lives a long , long time in prison .

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

I tried to take a few days to make sure I wasn't overreacting.

Plain and simple JoePa and plenty of others had a moral obligation to do what it took to stop this. I can understand within the context of the situation them initially trying to figure out how to deal with this internally..they're dealing with a trusted coworker they've worked with for 30 years...but eventually everybody sits in a room and figures out they have to call the cops. Anyone who knew about this should be fired...end of story.

After hearing it in more vivid details today what happened that day in the showers, I wouldn't mind if they walked the whole lot of them out in shackles. Screw the BS college football coach prestige. The weakest man in the world sees that and immediately grabs a bat and just sees red on Sandusky for about 2 minutes, then directly calls the cops. And this dude just walks away and lets it continue and tells daddy Paterno the next day. Unreal.

Penn State Nittany Lions to name committee to review sex-abuse scandal - ESPN

In other words. They are putting on some farce "investigation" to buy Joe Paterno enough time to finish the season. They aren't going to fire him most likely. If I had a kid that played at Penn State, he wouldn't play another game for Joe Paterno. In fact, how in the hell can they let that guy go out there and coach Saturday?

Really? 40 counts of sexual misconduct? Adopted kids at home? And he gets bail?

Sandusky is currently free on $100,000 bail.

On ESPN? I saw that interview/speech by him, he came to tears at one point. The whole thing is very sad for all parties involved.

When a child is abused like that it creates a awful ripple effect in the lives it ruins.

Ever watch Intervention? A lot of the times, I say 6 out of 10 times, the addict has a history of sexual abuse and is using drugs/alcohol to mask that pain and their addiction is destroying the family unit as well all from the selfish act of the sexual predator.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

He's resigning at season's end. He seems to be dressing this up as some sort of punishment for himself, when I think many expected that this would be his last season anyway. It almost seems preemptive on his part, as a way to subvert a mid-season firing. Fail.

Even now the handling of the situation by the university is sickening. Joe and everyone that was involved should be shown the door immediately.
