I still think we can afford one more loss, but can't be to NY. I think if we won out but say lost to Baltimore, we'd still have a real good shot at 9-7.

[If the Redskins lose to the Giants...] A wild card spot is very much in play if the Redskins can win four of their last five to finish at 9-7.

Here is the big picture: It looks like one of the two wild card berths will go to either the Packers or the Bears. They are both 7-3 and tied atop the NFC North. One likely will win the division, the other will get a wild card.

The Vikings, Bucs, and Seahawks are all tied for the second spot at 6-4. The Redskins are a game and a half behind them.

It is very possible that all three will lose on Sunday. Minnesota visits the Bears, Tampa Bay hosts the Falcons and Seattle makes the NFL’s longest road trip when they go to Miami. That would pull the Redskins within a game of the last wild card.

The leg up that the Redskins have is that they beat both the Bucs and the Vikings, giving them the tiebreaker edge.

Technically it is still not a "must-win" at the Giants game, but it sure would be a lot easier to do it that way. Would sure be nice to knock out all three division rivals within 2-3 weeks..

That depends on if giants beat pack. If they do i would consider it a must win.

Re: NFC East Chances

Every divisional game is a must win till the end of the season.

Honestly if this team goes from 3-6 to 10-6 they win the division. The Giants would need to lose just one other of there 5 remaining games. We would have the tie breaker at 5-1 in the division to say 4-2 for them assuming we both finished with the same record.

10-6 for us MAY make a wild card if the Giants won all but the Skins game remaining on their schedule. The 5th and 6th teams in the NFC are 6-4 two full games ahead of us.

Win is the way to do this and also be running on a hot streak entering the playoffs. Do I believe that it could happen, sure it's the NfL and momentum is everything, will it well... I have been through the last ten years and although something is building in DC.. It may just wait till next year to see an East title and a birth in he playoffs.

Fan since 82 BTW though I must say i was 4 back then, but got to talk a lot of shit in school all the way till high school. Not so much the last 20 years

I think it will easier for us to win the division than to get a wildcard. It can be done. Especially if the Packers beat the Giants today.

^ The Giants face a grim schedule the rest of the way.

The NYG face the Packers, Redskins, Falcons, Ravens, and Saints. I only have them defeating to the Saints. The Redskins on the other hand have played the hardest portion of their schedule. The Redskins have the Giants, Ravens, Browns, Eagles, and Cowboys. The Redskins have a better chance at finishing 10-6 than the Giants have at finishing at 9-7.

Okay. If both the Redskins and NY Midgets end up at 9-7, which would win the division? Probably the NY Midgets because while we are 2-1 in the division they are 2-2 but in the NFC conference they are 6-2 and we are 5-4. If we finish 10-6 and they end up 9-7 we'll win the division. The Redskins have the Ravens @ FedEX Field and should win that game. I don't want to see them lose to anybody here on out.

If we finish 9-7, with the one loss to the Ravens or Cleveland, then in a tie with the Giants we would win. But they are 7-4, and I doubt they lose 3 games. So the other possibility is we win all 5, and they lose 2 (1 to us and one other). In that case we would be 5-1 in division, and would be division champs.

Bottomline, a win next Monday puts us in a strong position to steal the division from the Giants.

I was gonna say - you already have a pony (or Angus might as well be!)

Skins rank #1 in pass yards per attempt.
Skins rank #3 in rush yards per attempt. (2nd overall)

I really think if the Redskins beat the Giants next Monday night, they'll win the rest of their games. I think this game is key.
