Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

Pies.......mmmmmm!!! <--best topic ever!!!
My Mom's Pumpkin Chiffon (sp?) pie is the best....a little lighter and much tastier than regular pumpkin pie...

Sick of: All of the above, especially...

A. Spurrier. He is gone because he chose to be. Most people were willing to give him 3 years, but he QUIT. Move on...he has!
B. The 2000 offseason was a failure, but I specifically remember the same critics that now (still) bash Snyder for it, predicting the Skins to the Superbowl or at least close to it that year. Get over it, Snyder has (meaning he learned from it and has moved on).
C. Talk of Tim Hasselbeck as the starter and better than Ramsey. He's a great #3 QB, decent #2, but that's about it...come on...

Basically anything that doesn't have a direct effect on this coming season. Yeah, I'm sick of hearing about Coles, Pierce, Smoot, etc, too but that actually affects what the Redskins are doing NOW, not two or three, or five years ago.

No - but I'll be sure to let my friend know about it. I wonder if I get commission from the copyright lawyers...

I Think Moss Is Just As Good As Coles. At Least He Knows How To Get In The
Endzone

With that reasoning, you could also say that about Patten... I think he had 8-9 touchdowns and touched the ball many times less than Coles.

I won't get into another "Bash Coles" discussion... I'm just sayin'.

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

Both Moss and Patten had roughly 40-something catches for 800+ yards, while Coles had 90 catches for only 950 yards. Now you could say it was the offense, but I believe both of their offenses also had a lot of short passes that depend on yards after the catch. The Big Toe just didn't have the breakaway speed to do it. Not to mention the TD's (or lack of for Coles). But like you said....no need for yet another Coles-bashing thread...

Another topic I'm completely sick of that comes up whenever someone doesn't like something the FO does: The Redskins need a GM. :vomit-smi

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

All getting a GM would do is to have one person to blame when people don't like a move the team has made, instead of three.
I may be in the minority, but I like the current set-up....especially since Gibbs has more football knowledge in his little finger than most if not all of us do in our entire bodies....not to mention his management skills.

I've been sick of this one for a long time.

Anytime there's something negative with personnel (Brunell), it's always the Skins need a GM.

When things go right (Taylor, Cooley, Washington, Griffin, Springs, Portis), you hear nothing.

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

I mostly gave credit to Gibbs for those signings. Was he really in charge of those or was it a combination of the entire coaching staff/scouts? I was pumped for every one of those players except for Brunell. (I was a little shaky on Springs because of his injuries)

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

I dont even care. I just want football to start so that I can see our defense play. I'm so used to losing more than winning, i barely notice anymore when we lose. Just let me watch our defense.

The thing is that when they do something that turns out good, the media almost seems to view it as "they got lucky", and any bad moves seem to be harped on forever and ever. But I guess winning cures things like that, and I can't wait to see the healing process begin this fall.

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

Most definitely. But you have to remember, more often than not, if there's going to be news, it's going to be BAD news. If the media didn't have something bad to harp about, their entire world would implode. I too, want to see the entire Redskins organization, run itself with the inherent class that it had during the Championship runs and see how many cynics there are afterwards.

Talking like this makes me wonder what Arizona Cardinals fans talk about...
