Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Which is why I didn't understand all the people that insisted on keeping him on the bench.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
He certainly is doing a better job of protecting himself on his runs. I think he is making progress across the board, and they say he is.
It wouldn't be our luck for him to pan out, but we're due for something to go right. Right? |

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Also I would bring back both KC and McCoy. Both showed a lot of bright spots and perhaps can and will improve with another year. As long as RG3 is your starter, there better be quality back-ups on the roster.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
^ I would too, although they'd have to understand that it would be as backups (if RGIII is playing well through season's end and is the annointed starter). McCoy might get an offer to compete for a starting spot elsewhere; not so sure about Counsins.

the Redskins and Rams have the same job going forward. They will just play spoiler where needed so teams like the Eagles and Cardinals are knocked down

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Wait, RGIII is the anointed starter, make no mistake about that. We spent way too much for that not to be the case. Barring injury, he will remain the anointed starter for a good long time, even with less than stellar performances. There's just no way we abandon that dynamic anytime soon for sure not through next year...

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
I doubt McCoy will start elsewhere. Accuracy is okay but his arm is a straight up noodle. Then again there are teams hurting for a starter (I'm looking at you Bucs and Raiders)

Even though he is often successful (DJax has bailed him out more than once), watching McCoy go deep is painful.

See if Griffin can stay healthy and see if defense has any players.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
I agree with this post. If anyone thinks Gruden will stick with RGIII just because what we sacrificed to get him, I don't think you have the measure of the man. RGIII will have to produce -- I don't mean light it up, but he will need to demonstrate that he can (a) stay healthy, and (b) develop as a passer (running will not suffice). If by season's end, he's averaging 200 yards passing per game, 1 TD, and 1 INT (or something pedestrian like that), I would fully expect the coaching staff to look at the QB position anew come 2015 and open it up to some competition.
If, on the other hand, RGIII can put up more respectable numbers, I do think he enters 2015 as the annointed starter, and I surely hope he does given the holes we need to fill elsewhere. As for McCoy, you all are a tough crowd. The guy hadn't played in 3 years, and in his first start back he throws for just under 300 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT -- AND has gutsy game tying and winning drives. (Oh, and that was after bailing us out against the Titans the week before.) I don't disagree his arm strength does not rival that of many starters, but I would bet that there are a few teams that would see that performance and think that he's at least someone that could compete with their incumbentduring training camp.

Ladies and Gentleman....I give you our ultimate goal for the 2014 NFL Season
![]() Just as Christian Slater showed in the hit 9 Episode series My Own Worst Enemy, the only thing better than one Christian Slater....is two Christian Slaters. So for the Redskins may I propose the only than better than 1 first round Baylor QB is TWO Baylor first round QB's.

I was in favor of that because the season was still alive. Simply wanted to give Colt one more week and have Griff even more ready for the home stretch. Had i known our D was going to shit the bed so bad I would have wanted to see another week of Griff. |

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Snyder/Allen want RG3 to play. Is Gruden really that Ballsy that he'd risk being fired? I see Snyder saying something like - "We brought you here to develop RG3, if you don't want to do that i will find someone that will"...
