Agreed. LOVE this, hope it works. Signings to date are low money, low risk, relatively young, good locker room guys. Focus on lines usually pays off. If our DLine is better, our seconary is better. If our Defense is better, less pressure for Offense to score. May help Offense and whole team. It's a little strange for one year deal, it looks like Knighton may have taken it in part to ?play with Baker who is his best friend, but strange for both sides. If we can get pressure on QB consistently, and hopefully even without blitzing - everything falls into place. Seems like major needs are still safety, CB, OLB, RT, and maybe OG.. But tons of time for low-money FA and the draft. Love the direction we're headed, just seems smarter than in years past with good contracts. |

Interested in seeing what a Hatcher / Knighton / Paea DL does for the likes of Keenan, Kerrigan, Amerson, Breeland
Side note: Pot Roast, Paella? I'm getting hungry

The #Redskins are signing CB Chris Culliver to a 4-year deal, source said. Another top corner off the board.

Love the Knighton signing. After all these years in the 3-4 we finally have a true run stuffing NT. Love what we're doing so far. Adding pieces and not over spending.

Some details on the Culliver deal:
Mike Jones retweeted Rand Getlin @Rand_Getlin 13m13 minutes ago Source: It's a four-year deal worth $32M for CB Chris Culliver and the #Redskins.

Re: Redskins 2015 Signings (and Re-Signings) Thread
Here's the deal with Culliver:
He just might be our best CB on the team right now. He had some great years here in SF (especially the SB year)He's had off field issues, the homophobe rant before SB, followed by a torn ACL and a hit and run on a bicyclist the following year. He had a horrible SB after having had a great season which I believe due to the comments he made about gays and media hammering him on SB week.. Last year it was so-so, I would say due to coming back from surgery. Maybe new surroundings, his second year coming back from injury he might rediscover himself. I say he might be better than Maxwell and Thurmond, he can defend and is a great tackler.

Re: Redskins 2015 Signings (and Re-Signings) Thread
NFL.com: Culliver had a strong 2014 after missing the previous season due to an ACL tear. His career arc is still ascending, too, with a marked improvement over each of his first two seasons.
Surprisingly, this past season was his best, though. Culliver pushed through what is typically a down year for those recovering from a torn ACL. He allowed just half of the passes thrown his way to be caught, according to Pro Football Focus, and surrendered an opposing passer rating of 66.5. The move continues a -- to quote Around The NFL comrade Chris Wesseling -- surprisingly sensible offseason for Daniel Snyder and his crew in Washington. Re: Redskins 2015 Signings (and Re-Signings) Thread
Remember, he was coming back from ACL surgery. I've seen this guy shutdown many real good receivers. Hopefully he has matured and a change of scenery might benefit him. Remember the 49ers led the league with players having off field issues. And yes, the off field issues are concerning.

He's a good corner, and compared to the other guys signed, he's alot younger. They aren't going after guys 30 and over.

Re: Redskins 2015 Signings (and Re-Signings) Thread
I think we made a good choice with Culliver...the question becomes will it be: D Hall, Amerson, Breeland or not on roster, he is paired with on the outside.

8 mil per year on the Culliver contract sounds like a lot. Hall for example is 4 years for about 20 mil.
