Re: Packers pregame thread
Our LG situation has been such dogshit for so long, I don't blame people for looking for outside the box solutions, even if I don't happen to agree with this one. Simple solution would be for the team to fix it.

Re: Packers pregame thread
Over the past 20 years I feel the Oline has had the biggest swings from good to bad off any unit. Like, our d line for example has never been better than good. Our oline has at times been top and at other bottom 5.
Anyways, I say this because the during times they've been good, I've always noticed that if they had an injury it didn't drastically effect the play of the unit as a whole. Guys like Tony Bergstrom have come in and looked like competant backups and had good games. Sometimes this is when we'd find our future starters. I think everyone needs to chill. Last year the whole line was injured, that hasn't happened yet, and hopefully won't, and maybe the line will be ok. Last week looked bad and there's no excuse, but honestly, if any unit on this team is likely to fix their problems and get right I think it's the oline. I do agree, I am very confused about their plan at LG. It did seem they should have been able to find better competition, but I have a hard time believing that 1 weak player in the oline makes this team unable to function. Re: Packers pregame thread
I want this week to be our Defensive front seven coming out party. There is too much talent for it to still look pedestrian. Sooner or later they will look very good, or they better, there's been too much investment there for this team to be successful unless they are.
If that happens, the secondary is good enough if they stay healthy that this is a top 10 D. This week Josh Norman needs to get his head out of his ass. He was terrible last week. He whiffed on 3 tackles and got beat multiple times too. I'm passed thinking he's an elite corner, but he's a good one, and last week may have been his worst as a Redskin. Defense gets 5 sacks, multiple tips, and 2 turnovers against a shaky Aaron Rodgers. Redskins 27 - Packers 21 Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Re: Packers pregame thread
I don't see many sacks this week, Rodgers is great at quick releases.. RK and PS have been awful so far, especially Kerrigan. He looks injured or something on tape, has no fire off the ball at all.

Green Bay wins this one 31-17
As long as Rodgers is on field, the team will always have a good chance of winning. FFS, Rodgers came back in Bears game with bum knee and managed to win the game for the team. I think we will see Redskins play better than last Sunday but it simply won't be enough. |

It is not even close, the talent difference between Ty Nsekhe and the rest of the bench is massive. You want your best five out there, even if you have to move a star. Joe Bugel used to do all the time, he moved Joe Jacoby pro bowl to guard. Another time he moved Jacoby to RT when we got Lachey. He moved hall of fame Russ Grimm to center. I am not sure in what universe you would not want start your best 5? You would rather lower your chances of winning by starting a less talented line up than start your best players? Ty Nsekhe is a staring caliber LT. The rest of the guys on our bench are terrible. We basically have a rookie staring at center, TW would help him greatly at LG and Brandon Scherf at RG. That would help our second weakest link Roullier. Our first weak link Lauvao. Last edited by Defensewins; 09-22-2018 at 09:47 AM. |

Re: Packers pregame thread
starting TY is a risky move in case on of the T's happens to go down. Thats the only issue here... and then what if he got hurt while playing G? - then one of the T's goes down and he isn't there to back them up? -- I mean if last year showed us anything it's that our o-line depth is trash af ... and i guess the staff just doesn't wanna risk it ?

Re: Packers pregame thread
Nsekhe played some LG last year against Dallas not sure why he couldn't again. I think he's probably plan C at guard. He would have had some more work there in the offseason if he wasn't coming off an injury.

Re: Packers pregame thread
That would be acceptable if Williams was the GM of the Patriots who can get away with treating the first quarter of the season as an extension of the preseason. Last I checked he worked for the Washington Redskins that have averaged south of 7 wins the last decade.
