I really like your choices here for the #19 draft pick!! I was convinced that the team would go for the best OT on the board, but I think they may also go for the best LB or S available. If you get an elite S you get to drop that horrible Collins contract (ANOTHER Bruce Allen terd) and get an instant upgrade. The team may still bring in Boston (depending on the draft) as a short term fix. We need an excellent LB. - especially in the middle for the 4-3. Adding a highly talented LB will really improve the defense. Boston is just not cutting it t I think the team will go for OT AND OG in the 2-4 rounds of the draft. Worst case build up our depth; best case and you solidify the position for 5-10 years. I think they’ll go for middle LB in the first round. Instant upgrade for the defense! Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
I think the secondary will be better with the addition of Jackson and with Collins coming back. With this D-line they don't have to be a shutdown secondary anyway.
The priority has to be LB. I hope they go LB - OT - LB with the first three picks. |

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
I think a team led by Ron Rivera and Jack Del Rio will definitely lean toward LB at the 19th pick.
I dig the Tulsa kid, but wouldn't hate Parsons. Adding a bad ass LB to our front line gives me goose bumps. |

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
On the other hand a team lead by Rivera and Del Rio should be able to find great linebackers in the mid to late rounds without having to expend high picks on them........

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
Lewis hadn't done anything when drafted, so yeah, I wouldn't have had a problem with him. But if he had been involved in the crap he was involved in later, yeah, I would've passed.

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
As much as i would love a LB to solidify the D I really hope we take a Tackle. Our D is good enough to win already but if we cant protect Fitzmagic it will be more of the same.

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
Vera-Tucker is probably going to be a guard, but there are 7-8 prospects that are projected to be starting tackles from the jump.
If that is they way they decide to go, I hope an opportunity presents itself to trade back, get their OT, and acquire another pick or two. |

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
5. Jabril Cox, LSU
As far as pure coverage skill goes, Cox is the best in the draft class. Others are more athletic or explosive, but Cox is so assignment-sound and smooth that he consistently gets the job done. Whether that’s in man coverage… Cox just continually made plays throughout his college career. In his last three seasons — two at North Dakota State before transferring to LSU this past season — Cox earned coverage grades of 87.4 (2018), 85.2 (2019) and 83.5 (2020) while collecting eight picks and 11 pass breakups over that span. Maybe he won’t produce super high-end splash plays, but Cox gets the job done. https://www.pff.com/news/draft-2021-...acker-rankings LSU LB Cox has been linked to the Skins at no. 51 by multiple sites. Hamstring keep him from participating in the LSU pro day Would love Jenkins in the 1st, Cox in the 2nd (or bateman in 2nd if he gets that far) |

Re: Pre Draft Thread 2.0
I have to think that unless a pretty much nailed on starting LT is there at 19 we'll take the best LB available (especially if near enough the BPA). Unless the likes of Darrisaw is still available, I'd pick Parsons, Owusu-Koramoah or Collins - at least one of them should still be available. While we need MLB probably most (Parsons), I'd say Collins opposite Holcomb could be one of the bet OLB set ups in the league.
