Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Simpson couldn't even beat FSU. Terrible pick when you're in a win now mode with Stafford.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
I bet the Eagles are pissed, yes they got a slot receiver, but everyone else in the NFC East got a stud top 10 defensive player, possibly the top 3 defensive players in the entire draft.
I am not happy about the talent that went to the Giants and cowboys, but they kinda suck, so they get the top players award for that, just like us. NFL Parity, it's a thing, how else do houston, Washington, patriots go worst to first 3 years in a row. Watch out for the Giants, who knows. Not saying I want us not to go 17-0 but the NFL always seems to have an unexpected team go from crap to a Championship game in one years time. It's what makes the NFL better than all other sports

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Considering GMs are right on only 1/3rd of picks I'm not worrying about it. Styles sounds like high upside with a high floor so initially sounds positive. My personal thoughts were we have far more pressing needs than LB but hey I guess he was BPA on their board at the time.
Regarding Bain, that Bullock article that laid out that edges with arm length below 32 inches don't have productive careers means that Bain at 31 inches would have to be a unicorn. I think the kid has a motor and has learned to use his advantages so I'm excited to see what he can do through his career.

Super psyched about Styles, had a feeling we would up with either him or Reese.

I am hoping that we somehow can get the safety from Toledo (McNeil-Warren, I think his name is), although we obviously need WR help and I doubt he will fall that far. But his tape is pretty impressive too and we do need help there. Kinda brutal that the Giants got Reese and the Boys got Downs. I would really have liked them to have missed out on those guys. Jerry probably didn't have to move up to get Downs -- not that he gave up much. Miami went OL and given the state of their OL, that seemed likely. I suspect they didn't want anyone else to trade with Miami and scoop up Downs. I begrudgingly admit that was a good move. Of course, time will tell with all of this.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
Will we stand pat at #71? Going be a little of wait before we draft today. I say we go wr or cb with our 3rd round pick.

Re: 2026 Commanders Draft Results
McVay could not hide his disgust at the pick. Simpson I feel needed another year. His play fell off badly towards the end of the season. Not all his fault but he obviously needed more game reps. Now he will sit for at least a year, maybe longer w/ Stafford playing so well.

At 71, I want (a) Elijah Sarratt or (b) A.J. Haulcy.
