I think Tannehill could be pretty good but I just hava feeling RGIII and Luck will be top 5 QBs of the next generation.

Thing about drafting Tannehill. Automatic trick play threat.....or at least half of a trick play. Not sure we have any running backs or receivers that can throw.

Let's say if Shannahan drafts a rookie QB and get Orton. Let's say we have another losing season do you think he gets fired? Also, I know you don't like this but when does Daniel Snyder step in you think. I mean if this year is like this past season and we have the qb mess. Wouln't you wanna step in? I think Snyder has been patient, but Bruce Allen/Mike Shannahan are running out time. Thoughts?

I feel it may depend on how they play. If we play the same way we played last season, I can see why MS would be fired. But if we have a Panthers' type of a season, then maybe Snyder gives him another year.

If we wind up with Peyton, is it crazy that I'd consider Richardson at #6?

Just those two alone would be such a tremendous boost to our offense.

We'd actually, you know, keep some opposing coaches up at night don't you think?

If we can get a healthy Peyton in FA then I dont think anyone would complain about whatever we do with out draft but RB is not our 2nd or 3rd or even our fourth biggest need aside from QB, so I would rather see them draft someone else at #6. If we already had peyton at draft time then I would want WR (only if Blackmon is there) and if not then Nest available Oline.

The thing is, we lack playmakers. I view Richardson as one of the premier ones coming into the draft. Helu and Royster are nice players, don't get me wrong, but they are not on the same level IMO.

And I'm someone who usually would go against drafting RB that high. It's just an intriguing option to me given who's likely going to be available when we pick.

Yeah I agree we need playmakers on this team but with that in mind wouldn't you think Blackmon is more of a playmaker?

Blackmon's not going to be there when we pick. @ 6 it looks like our options are going to be Richardson, Reiff and maybe Claiborne. If not we'll need to trade down or reach.

I'm not actually against any of those options. I just wouldn't necessarily rule out drafting Richardson at this point.

Yes, a joke. I kind of feel bad for the Giants. The media's gonna talk about this win for 1 day and then turn their attention to the Peyton fiasco that's going to follow.

Maybe he could replace Sam Huff on the radio broadcast team?

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

For those that want Richardson I ask, when was the last time a premier RB started in the Super Bowl?

We've had a lot of RBs by committee in the SB for the past couple of seasons, including this year's SB. I just feel that spending a top 10 pick on a RB is not that much worth it anymore.

Especially with Shanny's knack for finding late round and FA diamonds in the rough. Doesn't everyone think Helu and Royster looked good enough last year to be the future without having to give up our top pick for a RB? That would be silly IMO.

It's a good point. Guys like AP, Lesean McCoy, Matt Forte, and Chris Johnson are great players, but it's just seems like RB's these days aren't the players that really put teams over the hump. It's a passers league now more than ever. Safties, corners, WRs, QB's, and even TE's (as this past season has showed us) are skyrocketing in importance. Look at the most recent SB champions- Giants, Steelers, Saints, Packers, Giants.... None have really had a workhorse back.

I think Trent Richardson is an excellent player, but I wouldn't be happy at all if we took him at #6.
