Re: Redskins vs. Texans Gameday Thread

People remember we have a new defense and offense scheme its only 2 games we will be a better team this year. You have to walk before you can run. HTTR

That would be great if our team was rebuilding, but we're not. I still think this 3-4 defense switch is a bad idea.

I disagree to an extent. Our 3-4 D is getting way more pressure on the QB than our 4-3 D has in the past 3 years at least. We had 5 sacks today, I think we did that in Oakland last year, but this is a quality team, with a good OL, unlike Oaklands. I do say though that the D needs some tweaking, and Andre Carter still is shaky in it.

Agreed. No need to hit the panick button. It is a long season. We can all talk "what if" and play Monday Morning QB and pull things apart, but bottom line is, we learn from this and get ready for the next one.

Got to put teams away. We did show tonight we can play with some of the better teams in the league right now. Just got to finish them off.

Yeah....They need to change the rules on That! Specifically on when u can call the F'ing time out! Its ridiculous that they call it AFTER the kicker is in motion to start the kick. It needs to be called WELL before the snap. Such a crap rule anyhow. I mean our boy hit it the 1st time!!!

Re: Redskins vs. Texans Gameday Thread

Key reasons why we lost today
- Jammal Brown false starting near the end zone making 3rd and 1 a 3rd and 6 which lead to
- Fred Davis not blocking the outer man freeing him up to block the kick
- McNabb overthrowing Galloway
- Reed Doughty and Philip Buchanan for the coverage on Andre the great Johnson. You NEVER should leave him in one on one coverage.

All that aside, I believe that the Texans this year will be the saints from last year. They are a Great offensive team, and the defense is shaky, but will get better. I think 5 weeks from now we'll be looking at the Texans saying " I can't believe we were even that close to beating that great of a team.."

Re: Redskins vs. Texans Gameday Thread

that was brutal ... however i feel a little different about this lose than in past years ... we got the t/o jinx on that FG ... that damn call with not calling Keiland Williams out of bounds ...then Andre Johnson catch was INSANE ... this is tough loss ... but I feel better about this time at 1-1 going to St.Louis ... shake it off ... get back to 2-1 and let's go to Philly

Agreed. This loss was tough but not like years past. No need for dispair.

I am not down in the pit of despair Skins 89, but it is sad when you totally dominate the first half and run out of gas for roughly the last quarter and a half of play. Our D needs to step it up!!! We were looking like the old Mike Nolan days when we had Stanley Richards and Jesse Campbell making Jake Plummer and co look like all pros.

Yes the D needed to step up, but today it was problems with stupid penalties and special teams letting us down in the fourth quarter.

Galloway should have got that deep ball at the end.

DMac got rolling, and we still have big problems in the running game.

The D played well until the end and they got gashed a few times.

Reed on Andre Johnson will never ever work.... period. We would have been better off with Bryon Westbrook back there.

Re: Redskins vs. Texans Gameday Thread

really any way we spin this this loss is a heartbreaker and i feel like sh!t. we need to learn how to put teams away. every game it seems we let teams back in the game whenever we get a lead. for years and years now. when we are up i just know we will give up the lead or at least make it close. its infuriating really.
