Hey I was planning to go ahead and re-open the QB Camp thread I had started and stickied with the schedule since it's kicking off this weekend.

You want to go ahead and post this there and re-open it?

Apparently, Todd McShay is saying that there is very little difference between RG3 and Ryan Tannehill. I hope he is wrong, but it makes you wonder: Did we have to spend all those draft picks if Tannehill would have provided us with the same quality of play?

Overall, I'm happy with the trade, but I'll have to remember to ask myself this in three-five years...

Let me say first that I am glad that we will get Griffin because he is the better QB.

That said, I don't think that the gap between Griffin and Tannehill is as big as some people think, which is why I was beating Tannehill's drum so much before the trade. IMO Tannehill is going to be very good. It will be interesting to see if Griffin will be two firsts and a second (the net of the trade) better than Tannehill.

If Mayock said that, I'd give it a little more thought.. McShay, eh... I've got a general bias against ESPN guys anyways (think they say more things for effect than accuracy) but too many scouts have major questions about Tannehill for me to think the gap is close. One scout I read recently compared Tannehill to Kyle Boller coming out. Great athlete, great tools, no idea how to actually play QB at the next level.

Keep in mind that if Tannehill goes before 6, we might not have had a chance to get him anyways.

Him going before 6 was a byproduct of our trade with STL

There's been a fair amount of backlash against Tannehill in recent days. It's not hard for me to envision Tannehill as a guy who is playing quarterback in this league at a high level, but it's hard for me to see a guy who ever has a lot of contractual security.

I would take Tannehill over Osweiler, given the choice. But I think the Dolphins are far more likely to trade down for a Parcellsian prospect in Osweiler vs. trading up for a guy in Tannehill who their offensive coordinator has already invested a considerable amount of effort into to get him to this point.

I think Tannehill goes 5th overall to the Seahawks in a trade up.

Tannehill will definitely be the 3rd QB drafted in this draft class. I would take Brandon Weeden over Osweiler. And while I'm at it, I'd take Nick Foles over Osweiler too.

Wouldn't Sherman's experience with Tannehill make him much more appealing then Osweiler?

Because the Seahawks didn't just sign Matt Flynn or anything.

It's the Seahawks. Would you really be surprised?

I am not disputing that. Just pointing out that they're still aggressively involved in the quarterback market.
