The only scenario I see is if we trade him (ha, ha) or don't intend to sign high priced FAs next year. This year we might get no comp because our other high-priced FAs would probably cancel him out. I don't think the FO is being that clever. I think they looked at a roster with 20 holes on it, and couldn't address everything, so paid Scherff and will address G next year if he leaves. Keep in mind, FO could not know Flowers would be available for certain. Not defending the decision, but that's what I think thought process was. Basically, never-healthy Scherff wants a deal that pays about $7M less, on average, of what Jackson AND Samuel make combined. I think next year you clear Collins and Scherff off books and lock up Allen and Payne long term. |

I sure hope this happens .... Nothing against Scherff, but keeping that D-Line in tact as long as possible, without blowing up your entire salary cap, should be the priority. And .... I assume that will be the case, given Rivera's defensive back ground. |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
For those fans who are upset with WFT for not drafting a QB - read this nice article by Keim about WFT's plans for the QB position.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
The only QB I would have sold the farm for in this draft was Lawrence. He's the biggest sure thing there was. All the rest, meh. Not worth trading up for or wasting a roster spot on a guy that needs serious development.

WFT Announce Fed Ex stadium will have full stadium capacity Full capacity, which is absolutely the correct call. Good…this dub feels just like last weekend. Can’t wait to see those Redskins flags waving in the parking lots…

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
I'm sure any sort of large stadium gathering is going to require proof of vaccination for the foreseeable future. It's not political BS it's just smart.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
We will see but this is an absolute step in the right direction. If vaccines work, then your behavior should reflect it
Looking at the reactions to Texas rangers opening at full capacity killed a lot of the bs narratives. The lefties pundits cried and have been effectively silenced The Texas Rangers opened Globe Life Field a month ago. There’s been no COVID spike https://www.star-telegram.com/sports...251216364.html

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
I wish these "reporters" out there would stop linking AROD to us... It's noy going to happen, yeah I'd love it because he'd make us a legit SB team but he has openly said he wants to play out west.

If the Packers get to the point where they are serious about trading him, we sure as hell better make an offer.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
As talented as he is, I don’t want his level of diva-ness anywhere near this team. My brother lives right outside Green Bay and it is well known that Aaron is an @sshole of major proportions.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Yeah and he's also the reigning MVP and one of the best QBs of all time that would make us an instant and serious Super Bowl contender. I'll take that even if he is an asshole.
