Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I want Watson, I would give up draft picks but not any players. We have cap space to sign a few players a LB and FS and WR all of which would be 2nd tier players not elite.

The Iggles are stuck with Wentz and they are probably taking calls to say that they are doing their due diligence to trade him. It's going to be a mess for them this offseason.

As for Wentz, the Eagles screwed themselves with a contract they're not goig to be able to unload without taking a huge financial hit, if they can get rid of it at all. A comparable situation was Seattle with Matt Flynn. You don't pay a guy that much AND draft his replacement at the same time.

If he could be had for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, I might take a chance on him. I mean I think he's better than Mac Jones / Kyle Trask at this point, right? I'm not sure the Jets are ready to part with him though. |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Well.. Eagles traded McNabb to us and Eagle easily benefitted from it. Perhaps, this is a second round?

I'd be ok with Darnold if we didn't have to give up a first. Just not a big fan of him overall though. I don't think he would solve the QB problem.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
Sit back at 19 and wait to see if Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance, or Jones falls to us. I'm officially joining the Mac Jones can be picked here too.
If none are available, trade back and get some extra picks. Can then use 1 on a mid-round QB and still have plenty of picks left to fill out the rest of the roster.

To me Darnold would be like having a rookie QB. And yeah, I wouldn't give up a first rounder for him.

Fine with sitting at 19. Not trading back. Take the best mother fucker on the board who doesn’t play d line there. Should be a damn good tackle available. |

I'd be completely fine standing pat as well, but I like trading back, get some more bullets.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I'm with most of the opinions in this thread on Darnold.
Definitely not a 1st round pick for him. Or even a 2nd. For a 3rd though? And throw in a later round pick? Sure, pull the trigger. Maybe he's Tannehill part 2, and blossoms once he's no longer saddled with shitty ass coaching from Adam Gase. If that's true, then you have a top 3 drafted pick, with talent (and underrated mobility), finally getting a chance to shine. But if he still sucks?? You haven't lost much at all. Use free agency, and the draft, to fill in the other pieces, and give us some depth. Positioning us for finding our QB next year, if Darnold is a bust. Something tells me he isn't going to be though. |
