Also the numerous hints to a wolf connected name in yesterday's video couldn't be 100% fortunate, those are very carefully made. And no, I am not a fan of this logo. Just confident they can do better than that.

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
Here are all the logos shown in yesterday's video. First 5 pics from 1st second, the 6th at 32sec, right when Jason Wright is talking about the necessity of a clean break.
We know Redspears and Arrows are out for the same reason Warriors was ruled out: NA imagery. Bird not nearly as popular as Wolves involving options, and we have birds in the division already. Also notice how all look hand made except Wolves. Not trying to play Da Vinci Code here, nor say names not in this twitter vid are not an option. But you have to at least think Wolves/Redwolves is near the top of their short list. Why drop so many hints otherwise ?

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
To make it look like they actually care about the fans input... They know Redwolves was the most popular for some reason... So its to please that large group

So should we believe arrows is being seriously considered too?

Wolves are wildly popular as animals go. The gray wolf is the 9th most popular wild animal. Wolves are symbols of ferocity, loyalty to the pack, and strength. Why would that be a bad symbol for a football team? Wolves are natural adversaries of eagles, bears, even cowboys. And an image a Wolfpack taking down a giant would morph nicely into a defensive line sacking a qb. As for red wolves at least they are a real creature that was indigenous here, and the tie to burgundy and gold is fairly obvious. For me I have alot more trouble understanding the resistance to washington wolves (or redwolves) Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
No the writer specifically said that while other images were shown they all could easily be discounted so the wolves logo was the one placed repeatedly and is not in an already excluded category such as direct native American reference.
Marketing placement like that is subtle, but definitely used to make points with an audience. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
I dunno, wolves are strongly tied to Native American culture as a symbol of courage, strength and loyalty. Might have to skip this one too.

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
Wolves are a strong symbol in many cultures. It will be ok I think. I actually hope they use it.

That said, wolves definitely have more separation from NA culture than arrows or warriors. I can't wait till training camp so this discussion can take a back seat. But I also wish they would just announce the decision and be done with it... Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins
So cringe , it legit seems like HS football team. I'm sure we would get used to it but the thought of howling at games is so bad.
