Still a lot of question marks
Well a lot depends on how we address the quarterback position. But the receivers will develop and 2010 Portis should be a lot like 2009 Portis. If the offensive line gels, this could be a pretty good offense, depending on who the quarterback is.

JC had time today, I watched him on every play, he can't stay there all day, he is not reading the D and gets lost after he drops off the first read and then scrambles to find the dump off. Why do we do this every week, he turned it over 4 times.

Naturally I meant that satirically but I agree with you. We will need many more things to happen to be any good. Starting with qb play

So do you rather have a loss? Jax just killed Tennessee; a team that was penciled in to be in the playoffs just got killed by a team that was left for dead. I think in today's NFL, very few are the teams that you can say they are going to blow someone out of the water. We're not one of those teams, so just deal with it.

I can see that, but it's still pretty conditional. Say we have a rookie QB though.. who knows? Like you said a lot rides on that.

The receivers should develop and I'm seeing signs of it, but who knows wit Clinton. We're finally giving our line a chance to develop though instead of trying to fill every fallen gap, which is what we need to do. Not a lot of the best lines started with the best evaluated linemen no doubt.

Re: Week 4: Redskins vs. Buccaneers Gameday Thread

I think the reason JC is forcing the ball so much is because he's feeling all that pressure that we the fans/coaching staff are putting on him and he wants to prove himself by taking risky/stupid decisions. He just needs to settle down and learn to take what the d gives him and not worry about the rest.

Also I just wanted to say watching the end of this Bears/Lions game I think it's sad that Chicago is blowing out Detroit 48-24 and Detroit is playing like shit again, and that last week was a prime example of just how far we are from being a good team. I don't want to just be satisfied with eking out wins against mediocre opponents, even though today was a small step in the right direction. We have a long way to go to even consider being competitive against the truly elite teams in the NFL.

I partly disagree. He's accurate on some patterns. Others tend to go high on or behind the receiver, not to mention all the problems he has holding on to the ball even when he's not pressured. I am also not discounting the fact he may be nicked up. Hoping he can avoid the "Patrick Ramsey" Syndrome and be successful in this league.

This win is much better than the Rams W. The O executed a perfect pass play in the Red Zone. Campbell hit a big play to Moss. Right there, that's two things we didn't see at all in the 1st win. I'm still waiting for ANY involvement of Kelly, Thomas, or Davis in the offense. It's hard to believe that those guys could be any less utilized at this point. We would have been better off drafting O-line depth with those three 2nd round picks.

Well what if the offensive line is only giving him enough time to look at two potential receivers ?

You can't be successfull going 3 wide if your offensive line doesn't give you enough time to go through your progressions.

I know that wasn't the case the entire game (on Talib's 3rd pick I think he had enough time and was probably just staring down Moss) but again all the mistakes he made are correctable.
