This is fantastic news and at the right time. All these losing teams looking for head coaches are creating a lot of distracting headlines wanting Gregg Williams as their next head coach. Gregg needs to be focused on stopping the Bucs and his players need to know that he is there for them. I think Gregg Williams has a head coaching job in Washington when Joe Gibbs decides to step down or step up to general manager.

That's an excellent point - just look at how distracting it has been to us!

But it sounds like Snyder's going to make Williams one of the highest-paid coaches in the league-- head coach or not. Another team would have to put together a real blockbuster deal to pull Williams away from Washington. That's not to say it won't happen, but from the sound of it, Williams would want a personnel situation similar to what Gibbs has here with the Redskins-- meaning as head coach he would have significant control over personnel decisions, and the ownership would be willing to spend whatever is necessary to make those decisions a reality. There simply aren't that many franchises where that situation would work-- at least not with someone with a less-than-stellar head coaching record like Williams's.

I think Williams knows how good he has it here, and I think he's competitive enough that he wouldn't back down from the challenge of filling Gibbs's hallowed shoes when Gibbs retires.

it geat to know he wants to be here for awhile and be with joe gibbs as well.
he and hs family are very happy in washington and just as happy to see him stay for 3 more years too.glad they got it taken care of.

great news all around in keeping this staff together and the team will show it this weekend .
