Re: Bring on Mr. McIntosh, Warrick is Terrible in Coverage
this makes me laugh. the whole team has basically been out of position all year, and mcintosh cant get on the field because of it?

Re: Bring on Mr. McIntosh, Warrick is Terrible in Coverage
GW will play rookies. ST played his first game and was starting by his third. that was to fight his sense of entitlement though, not because of talent issues. rodgers had foot issues, but was playing a lot his first year as well.
i think if rocky could play better than holdman, GW woul stick him out there. at this point, we might as well start him though. we're not going anywhere, so let's see if we need another OLB or if he can figure it out... holdman is clearly NOT the answer. |

Re: Bring on Mr. McIntosh, Warrick is Terrible in Coverage
why is it certain coaches have a lovefest with certain players? holdman cant play, but williams keeps troting him out there week after week. i guess i could say the same thing about gibbs and brunell. man, those 5 yard passes brunell threw yesterday made his stats look pretty good

i agree. let him learn the pro game now, when his mistakes really don't matter

Re: Bring on Mr. McIntosh, Warrick is Terrible in Coverage
Holdman may be the sorest thumb on the defense right now, and the most easily replaceable, but all the LBs have struggled in tackling and pass defense. Like SGG pointed out, the interior pass rush is non existant. We are great vs the run on the inside with Griffin and Saleve'a, which is the most important thing, but they don't generate a pass rush. And what really hurts is when you have Andre Carter and Holdman on the same side vs the run. Seal Lemar Marshall off, and you have a big run.
I think we do need to get a young playmaker at DL in the offseason. Griffin is still playing at a high level, but is aging, and Saleve'a is good as long as he is playing beside someone better than him. Andre Carter is pretty much just Chris Clemons, IMO. A great situational pass rusher who is too weak at the point of attack to be an every down player. Gaines Adams would look beautiful in burgundy and gold.

Re: Bring on Mr. McIntosh, Warrick is Terrible in Coverage
we are lucky that DL is deep in this year's draft (mainly at DE). adam gaines, here we come. DE is still one of the riskiest positions to take super high though (with the others being QB and to a slightly lesser extent, WR).
