Janky do you have a link or something that proves that? I mean this guy is good enough to be on the field. Better than Thrash and Lloyd.

Re: JLC: Redskins Sign WR Reche Caldwell

Does anyone know for sure where Caldwell will fall in our system? My brother is saying that he is seeing reports (in Boston mind you) that Caldwell will be our #3 and replacing Lloyd. Can anyone verify this is true or not? Do we even know for sure yet?

I read the same thing on one of the articles posted on the WP. Maybe it was the New Jersey paper???? Not sure if it's fact, but I'm gonna' give Lloyd a call, and see what he wants for his house.

Re: JLC: Redskins Sign WR Reche Caldwell

From today's WPost (note the crucial phrase!):

Caldwell to Practice Today

Wide receiver Reche Caldwell, signed to a one-year veteran minimum contract of $595,000 on Tuesday, will practice with the Redskins for the first time today and hopes to be able to play Monday night. Caldwell was a starter with the Patriots last year but was released before the start of this season.

By waiting until this week to sign Caldwell, the Redskins avoided having to guarantee his base salary. He received no signing bonus, according to league sources, but could push to be a part of the top three rotation at wide receiver. Caldwell's signing leaves the Redskins about $2 million under the salary cap, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Everybody hates on James Thrash. Throw him the ball, he catches it.

I think this move means the end for Brandon Lloyd. He is so done here. That play in the endzone last week sealed his fate.

I was going to post this before i read your post. What is so bad about JT as a #3? I'd like to think that he would be a pretty good #3. When he's in the game he ususually makes plays right? I guess the coaches see something else.

It's not a bad pickup for that price. Caldwell can play. However i doubt he catches 25 balls this year.

You think? If this guy get's into a groove he could exceed that I would think.

I saw video of Caldwell practicing on Sportsnite last night and I couldn't stop thinking, "man his eyes are still huge".

I have a feeling that everyone is going to be very disappointed with Reche....I would take brandon lloyd over him any day....he's got twice the talent. And Reche doesn't bring much to the table...he's a loser at heart.

We will see i guess....i like the move becuase it gives lloyd a kick in the ass, but to lloyd's credit....we almost never throw to him

Well, I think after this move Lloyd's career as a Redskins are done. Who knows there is a small chance this could act as some sort of slap in the face and get him moving, I doubt it though.

Reche had a much better season than Lloyd last year. He was very productive. Just because Lloyd is more talented, it doesn't make him a better player overall. I think Reche bring WAY more to the table than B.Lloyd.

Plus B.Lloyd has a shitty attitude and doesn't seem to care about anything but himself. I'll Reche over B.Lloyd any day. Shit, I'll take Taylor Jacobs over B.Lloyd right now. Yeah...I said it.

He also had a better quarterback throwing to him in an established offensive system. Not saying he isn't better than Lloyd, just that let's not crown him the new #3 because of what he did somewhere else last year.

Re: JLC: Redskins Sign WR Reche Caldwell

No big deal, in case no one realized Patton looked awful good with Brady throwing to him, Caldwell is nothing special just another experienced WR to fill in. It sounds to me like Lloyd is very malcontent because of the way he has been used, and from what I can gather his effort on that 1 INT which I haven't seen raised some eye brows on his desire to succeed on the field. I doubt Lloyd would be having these problems if he had Brady throwing to him, it's been night and day for R.Moss.
