But at least you made a valid point, unlike those who say things like "why dont you shut up and scream your asss off and not worry about whats coming out of the speakers, and by the way fedex is so loud and crazy theres no reason for use to play "fake noise"." Seriously I LOVE THE REDSKINS, is that really your argument? Also, how does one "shut up and scream your asss off" at the same time? I think Dirthogs whole point is that obviously 90,000 people can make a hell of a lot of noise, so why would the FedEx people pump in noise IF they are doing in? And if you actually take the time to read over the posts you'll see that Dirthogs isn't the only person hear who thought he heard this. Are you saying that we're all lying?

Re: FedEx crowd noise
No, sorry, that was more directed at the people who say that FedEx never pumps noise but don't offer any kind of explanation for what people like myself think they're hearing.
Like people who say things like: Quote:

Re: FedEx crowd noise
Now I wasn't at the game, but I know a really honest dude who is a season ticket holder, and he was appalled that they pump in fake noise.
Seems like this story keeps cropping up from time to time. I've heard this story more than once from different people. |

No, he just mentioned that's all. I don't know, don't care. Chances are though, if we're hearing different people from different souces saying the same thing, it could be true. |

Re: FedEx crowd noise
I don't THINK I heard something. I KNOW it. There is a difference in sound between people being extra loud and sound coming from a speaker. Natural sound is much more diffused while the speaker sound is directed. I believe what was happening was the sound from the stadium was being fed through the speakers. It sound specifically like crowd noise. I have sat in those same seats for 3 years and never heard anything like it remotely. Even on the loudest days it never sounded like that. It happened.
My question is still...who cares? If there were people who couldn't tell I would say that is because the directed sound had little effect other than those directly in its path. The speakers I know sound came from was not pointed at the field. So i really think it did nothing but get the crowd going more. I have no problem with that. |

Re: FedEx crowd noise
To all the people who refuse to accept the testimony of a large number of Redskin fans on this site:
You guys make me laugh. How can you discredit the first-hand experience from fans on this site? Everyone is lying, right? Even the people who sat right next to the speakers and confirmed it? I was at the game, and I didn't hear anything. However, I believe my fellow Redskin fans when they say they did hear it. I'm not surprised it happened, and I don't care. Another thing: Not everyone is a sound professional, but we all have ears, and have been hearing sounds for 20, 30, 40, 50, or more years. I think that qualifies all of us to speak on this subject. Just because somebody isn't a sound technician, doesn't mean they don't know how to listen, or they don't know what they are hearing.

Re: FedEx crowd noise
Ok, it was me with my MR. Microphone which I purchased back in the 80's and a tapped into the sound system. Didn't you hear me say "Hey, Baby, I'll be back to pick you up at 8:00).

Re: FedEx crowd noise
The offense likes to be able to hear the QB call audibles etc... if it is so loud they cannot hear him, then they have to go to hand signals... which are easier to miss and can lead to miscommunications on the field.

Re: FedEx crowd noise
They have been doing this for years and it is 1000% fact. I notice it everytime I am in the upper deck. In fact I seem to remember the year that Baltimore won, we were chastised for it.
