Re: Its time for joe to step down.

All,

Look at the Cowboys last year, Parcells stepped down, tell me he's not kicking himself today. He built that team, actually the Cowboys were in better shape than the Skins when he took over. Look at them a year later, do I think the Skins could do this next year? The answer is yes.

True - did we need to give up 20.87 of those 21 yards though?

Aw, he was unlucky cuz our star players kept getting injured season after season?

Gibbs came here to restore us to respectability and get us back to winning. If we don't make the playoffs this year, he will have failed and shouldn't be allowed to use injuries as an excuse.
What will your assessment be when this team finishes the season strong at 10-6, completely turning things around from what it was a year ago? As a Redskins fan, I would assume you'd hope for the best and be supportive of the team.

Absolutely - go into every game hoping we win. Faith has been destroyed by 3.5 years of Gibbs 2.0, though.

If it's been destroyed, it wasn't really faith.

That doesn't make any sense, though. How has faith been destroyed when Gibbs has taken this team to the playoffs and advanced in the playoffs in his second tenure? That first year doesn't count, as that was a rebuilding year. I understand last year was a big disappointment, but we're still above .500 with seven games left in this season. I understand if we finish this season at 6-10, but there is still a lot of season to go. Even if we lose against the Cowboys next week, we still have a shot at making a good run toward the end of the year.

I'd say you're just too impatient and probably never had any faith in this team to begin with.

There we go....just as I predicted some 67 posts back...deflect the focus from the theme of the thread to questioning a forum member's fanhood. I must also mention my character sucks, I cheat on my wife, don't believe in Jesus, etc.

We already assumed all those things were the case.

Well if all that is true, then you just suck as a person in general.

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

We don't need to scream for Gibb's job at this point. He is not getting the job done and everybody knows it. Let the season play out and he will probably step down. Do you really thing this team is going to beat the Cowboys even once. Nothing has changed with this team since Snyder took over. A lot of it isn't Gibb's fault. But there are some consistent issues that haven't gone away since he's been here. Good game for Jason Campbell today!

Not sure everyone knows that Gibbs isn't getting the job done in his second stint. That said - in complete agreement - the old man will step down at the end of a playoffless season.

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

Thats the best thing about this forum, your absolutely in no way allowed to question anything that has to do with the Redskins. If you dont drink the Kool-aid your an idiot who has no idea what your talking about, your not allowed to speak out at all against the coaching staff. There will be no "extend Joe Gibbs contract" threads next week because we are going to get absolutely demolished by Dallas. If Sean Taylor cant go and Gregg Williams decides to play the same dumb ass zone defense that has allowed teams to take advantage of the underneath plays were going to be embarrassed. We needed to win this game badly, if you cant see that than your Burgundy and gold glasses are on a little to tight. Joe Gibbs not only cost us this game but he cost us the Giants game as well. We won the Cardinals,Jets and Dolphins game by pure luck. Conservative play gets you nowhere in the NFL and if you think were just one or two plays away from being a great team in the NFC you are sadly mistaken.
