Re: Portis
reading this post pisses me off more than anything. first of all yes it's very frustrating that we continually have seasons that end in disappointment..but that gives no one a reason to blame it on our best player on offense by quite a large margin. we can get nowhere on offense without portis, take out any other player on that squad and we will get by. but if you take out portis then betts can't do nearly as much as portis can. what we need is chemistry, we have the names. we just need time and i'm giving up on cambell and blaming most of this skid on him. i say give zorn another year or so to see what he can do. i say draft o-line cause that's our biggest concern as of now

Re: Portis
Portis is the 3rd leading rusher, this arguement is not valid. If you started this thread with I don't like portis because of his personality or attitude it would be worth while, but it is a joke to hide your true feelings in no fact arguements.

When all of you signed up for this forum you agreed to the terms of service. One of them was no hateful comments. Calling people retards, while sounding like third graders, is extremely hurtful and demeaning to people with special needs. And yes, it is hateful. Quoting Robert Downey Jr. is another thing. Okay, so you think Going Full Retard is quotable. I get that. Just wondering if you ever gave it a minutes thought to people with special needs and their families and how those words affect them. Shouldn't be that you have to have a family member with special needs to understand the pain, but seems to be that's how it is.

Re: Portis
PLenty of people on this board love to bash the players and point out that they have no class..... some of these fans seem to be talking about themselves as well. Lets try to keep it clean without the "offensive " names.

Re: Portis
To all the "retard" commentators.... do you even watch other NFL games? Compare Portis to 85% of other backs in the league. He is slow, has no lateral quickness and is absolutely horrible in the open field. ZERO balance, always falling forward.
He is average at best. let me see if I understand this. The NFL has 32 teams, each of which has at least one starting RB. of those 32 Clinton Portis is 3rd in rushing yards but he is average at best? Here is a hint for you: Don't Smoke Crack Before Posting on the warpath Learn it, know it, live it

BUT, he doesn't hit the home run anymore. He doesn't get past the last man. And he's getting older. Here is a list of the backs that i think are better: o Peterson o Westbrook o Williams o T. Jones o Johnson o Slaton o Forte o Stewart o Turner o Gore o Parker o Jackson w/ healthy o Jacobs o Smith (yeah from the Lions) --------------------------------------------------- i'm not saying CP isn't good, but i think he gets more credit then he deserves i think plenty of backs could do as well if not better then he does with our offensive line- Just being honest |

Im no Jim Ross bro whos the Retard? And watch who you say somethin like Learn It, Know It, Live It to also... you missed all Clintons strong points.... Hes NOT Slow Excellent Burst thru the hole. (when theyre there) ELITE/Great Vision (Portis Best RB Trait) Probally one of the best Pass Blocking RBs in the game. Decent Hands. Portis is a WELL ROUNDED Back. Top 5 In The League HEALTHY. THATS ALL...BOTTOM LINE. Stop talking ignorant "HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANOTHER TEAM PLAY" Cmon man...Your Not Nice. AND THIS LIST ABOVE ME IS PATHETIC... I agree with some. But definetly not the majority...for you have aging players on your list. And most the RBs you named are Young Talents who havent near started the resigme of a CPs career. Non Valid. THIS WHOLE THREAD FAILS And well still have Clinton next year so...good luck with your petition. WATCH THIS: (if it doesnt play go to youtube and search for Portis Landry Race) LANDRYS SLOW TOO RIGHT?

CP doesn't have to 'bad' for these other backs to better, savvy? Anyway, like i said before this is like my opinion. Just like its your opinion that CP is a top 5 back. Back to the list: o the only aging players on my list are: Brian Westbrook (29), Willie Parker (28), Thomas Jones (30) o the young backs on my list have all had good, if not great rookie season AND have all shown the ability to beat the last defender Imo any of the above backs would have done an equal or better job then CP, i don't have to consider your opinion 'pathetic' to disagree that's what's great about watching football...the ability to have informed discussion... |

Welcome to the board hm. Just remember some us think being called retarded is funny. My wife calls me retard, some of my employees call me retard... I sure as hell don't mind if someone on a blog calls me retard and especially if it's humorous.

Re: Portis
most of my above post was a quote of another. lets not forget CP is one of only two in NFL history to have two different 5 game streaks of 120+ yards, as long as he doesn't then kill his ex and her dude and the rob someone he is ok in my book
