The difference was the time they were given to throw. Ben and Rogers were able to complete 7 step drops. Their style is high risk high reward. Either they get sacked or a receiver breaks open and the offense gets a big completion.

JC behind our O-Line wasn't even able to complete much more then a 3 step drop. Thats the difference.

I'm not the biggest JC supporter but comparing JC to Big Ben and Rodgers because all three were frequently sacked isn't the way to go about arguing against JC.

I've only heard one maybe two people say that Clausen is not a first round talent.

Yeah, somebody's gotta stand out. If you want to make the argument that there aren't many guarantees at QB that's fine, but for someone like McShay to call him 36 is kind of interesting. The position alone warrants a move up the charts.. and that's in his mock draft, not even his draft/talent board right?

2009 Sack Rates

Jason Campbell: 7.8%, 550 dropbacks
Aaron Rodgers: 8.5%, 591 dropbacks
Ben Roethlisberger: 9.0%, 556 dropbacks

Who made what look good again?

yeah they got hit more, but also put up better numbers

either way, great QB or not you shouldn't put up with that type of line if you care about your QB

This is only due to the fact that Campbell is the only one of those three who can run and break sack tackles. Seriously. He escaped a LOT last year.

Big Ben is a LOT harder to bring down and keeps plays alive much better than Campbell.

I agree that Ben is harder to take down. He is pretty good at keeping the play alive. Of course, that's a lot easier if you think the guy you're throwing to is gonna catch the ball. I think Campbell runs more effectively though.

What I wouldn't give for a sure handed, Art Monk-style receiver. Not the biggest stat monster or YAC man, just a guy that you know is gonna tatch the ball if it's catchable. If anyone knows a site that keeps good track of the "Dropped Balls" statistic, please let me know.

If there were a Houdini Award for escape-artist QB's, Big Ben would be in the running every year.

In a few years? Dude he is 28 years old.. How much more time does this guy need? I like JC but his time is up in D.C, and yes I agree with you but Campbell is worth atleast a 2nd round pick.. Anyone who takes a beaten like JC did last year deserves a good pick lol.
