What about this bizarro world where Brandon Lloyd is one of the best receivers in football??
He woke up and started giving a damn about football.

Doc Walker used to say all the time that the players said Lloyd was the best receiver on the team when he was here.

How about DT for Marshawn Lynch or Fred Jackson now that Portis will be out for a while, before the Eagles beat us to it since McCoy has a broken rib.

Ha! Didn't he throw a helmet or something which freaked out Gibbs. (even though our stupid punter did it twice a year back then...)

Obviously we would do it. I am not so sure that Buffalo would sign off.

I don't think we need a RB. Torain is going to be good. I wonder if anything more ever came of that Kenny Britt rumor? He has been putting up modest numbers the last two weeks. Tennessee trade reincarnation anyone? Disgruntled WR's straight up? Thomas for Britt? Or Thomas and Haynesworth for Britt and....

How can anyone make the argument that Devin Thomas can't break a tackle or go up for a jump ball or be used as a decoy to stretch the field? Physically speaking, there's not ONE receiver on our team more gifted than Devin Thomas. It just doesn't make sense on so many levels.

The only conclusion I can come to is that Mike Shanahan loves veteran, warrior practice players. Look, Shanahan is a competent NFL coach but I seriously question some of his methods at times, which has ill served this team in my opinion.
I agree he's gotta be better than Armstrong, gotta have more talent........but does he work harder than Armstrong? Does he do the little things to make himself better? I dont know, you dont know, but I think Shanny values that type of stuff more with what im seeing.

Right now Im trusting Shanny and Bruce Bruce to run the team. So bye bye Devin "Epic Bust" Thomas

I remember it being reported that DT only made it to 55-60% of offseason workouts, just enough to keep a presence around Redskins Park, and not have to pass a conditioning test when getting to training camp. Shanahan is uptight so that might have been all it took.

Whoever said that other receivers are just "running around like decoys" is outta their mind. They have specific routes that they JUST CANT GET OPEN running. Thats how this boggles my mind. Galloway hasn't done anything except that 3rd down catch yesterday. But i dont think he should start for catching a 5 yard slant. Devin Thomas is 6'2". The only receiver on our roster with decent size. I dont think in today's NFL we can have the Smurfs 2.0 (trading Devin and activating TA). and PS. Devin Thomas is faster than TA.

Yes, agreed, Devin Thomas had one productive year in college, BUT WHEN THE HELL WAS THE LAST TIME JOEY GALLOWAY OR ROYDELL WILLIAMS WAS PRODUCTIVE?? There is a reason Galloway was cut by two teams last year. He wasnt productive with Tom Brady throwing him the damn ball! Roydell hasn't even played organized football in 3 years!

Thomas's worst attribute was getting drafted in the Zorn Era cuz he spent two years practicing with beach balls, bells and whistles, fun and games, and now we're being run like a professional organization. He's not adjusting well. Clearly, its not for his on-field play cuz up to this point, he doesnt have any :-(

I am totally against this move. Ugh.
Clearly Galloway and Williams were brought in to motivate Kelly and more specifically Thomas, and to show how professionals go about their work. I assume that Shanahan considers the experiment unwinnable at this point and so they are looking for other options. What a shame, I really expected DT to step up to the plate.

Torain has an injury history. We definitely could use another back with experience.

I wouldn't say experience so much as a warm body that knows the system. Torrain. Hopefully Simpson and/or Williams can contribute.

Michael Pittman and Andre Hall may be on Shanny's emergency hotline. They were on the 2008 Broncos' roster.

Seriously..why?

We have a speed demon in Armstrong who's leaving DB's behind
We have another WR who's faster than Devin Hester and finally gives this skins team something they haven't had since Brian Mitchell or Darrell Green left...A true return man threat!
Not to mention we have a guy sitting on our practice squad who has shown me he has as much if not MORE potential than Thomas in Terrence Austin.
AND...we still will have another season to see how much a bust in Malcolm Kelly we have..lol
Maybe he steps up..maybe not,but i like our situation.

I would be totally fine with trading D.Thomas for a player that can help us now or for a draft pick next season.
I think the big reason we are trading DT, is exactly that, we can trade him. We need picks, and badly. This team has no depth to speak of in too many areas to be real contenders, yet. With the NFC East wide open, we can make the playoffs, but come time to face GB, Minn, or the Saints, our guys will be packing their bags to Maui. Our WR corp is still a joke, and I hate to say it, but it includes the newbies. Yes they have potential, but we haven't seen much from even AA, with the exception of that one bomb and a few more grabs. Yeah Banks might end up being a stud of a return man, but how is he going to be at WR? Austin is big on potential also, but why was Banks even cut, and Austin put on PS, if they were so great? Galloway and Roydell are just wastes of roster space. We should have trolled the college ranks for undrafted rooks than sign these guys. We need DBs and LBs, and maybe we can snag a keeper even for depth in the 5th round. O line still takes top priority, along with a NT. Any shopping of Thomas should include AH for multiple picks.

Tatum Bell anyone? I actually would suspect LJ or Parker would return first. Either way I am cautiously excited about more Torain
