Sorry, somewhere between the "Trade Matt Ryan for Cam Newton" talk on the radio as well as the "look at our X conference players talk" I lost it. So if Lotus wants to bust out the 575 I'll understand.

Saw Helu live in Blacksburg. He tore it up that game against a pretty good D especially in BBurg. From what i've seen he's a downfield runner which fits a Shanny RB. I like it.

NFL.com take on Helu

Pick Analysis: Mike Shanahan picks up one of the top "one-cut" runners in the draft. He excels at running downhill between the tackles and has the size to become a punishing runner as a pro. Throw in his solid receiving skills, and he is the versatile feature runner that Shanahan loves to build around.

I'll admit that my post my be a bit of an over reaction. I still don't like the kid better than Kendall Hunter, and I don't like the trade down for him at all. But, I am familiar with his game,as I bet many Nebraska games over the years. His best asset is his toughness, he has a lot of heart and you see it in his play.

One of my buddies is a big Nebraska fan, he just texted me and said Helu is a perfect Shanahan zone scheme back.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7

BTW why didn't anyone tell me that Marcus Canon was quick? When you recommend a 358 pound tackle for a Shanahan coached team that is key information. Though he'll probably go undrafted. 3 months worth of treatment in store for him meaning he won't be ready until July....on second thought certainly worth a shot.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7

Salas and Hunter now off the board. Not that we needed to draft another receiver and RB, at least at this point.
