Coming out of College everyone knew Landry was not a Cover 2 Safety for the NFL. He was more of a Brian Dawkins free lancer type safety that would benefit in a 3/4 aggressive scheme. The Redskins ignored all this, and drafted him anyhow like they always did in the past. The only good thing now is he is in a system he belongs in. As long as he can play that free lancer role and not get caught up in playing a 4/3 over 2 scheme like G. Williams ran, then he will be a great safety. I just want to see him heal up and get back on the field. Doughty is not crap though.. I don't see him stumble like everyone says he does, and we also have Gomes who looked great in preseason.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
So because he talks trash, and is disfunctional mentally, that discredits his value? I don't think the two have anything in common.
Randy Moss came out and said he plays when he wants, but he's one of the greatest WR in NFL history. N. Suh is known for playing dirty, but is feared by just about every QB in the NFL. There are players all over the NFL known for talking trash, and still being great players. 89 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT, and 2 FF in 8 games? I don't see how that's overrated.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
The Giants are vunerable right now. Eli throws 2 Int's, Banks doesn't take ont o the house but sets up short fields and Hightower puts up 115+ yds and 2 TD's.
Skins 24 Gnats 17 First win against the Giants since '07!

Without a true free safety covering his back. Landry should never have been used as a cover safety but playing the line with Atogwe patrolling the backfeild? Nasty.

From NFL.com
In Washington, where the Pentagon was attacked 10 years ago, former Secretary of State Colin Powell will serve as the Redskins' honorary captain for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Back to the giants, I really feel that the Skins are going to run the ball....a lot! G-men are soft in the middle now and they don't want Grossman going back on every play to pass....cause that would be just Gross....man. Last edited by polywog; 09-07-2011 at 08:58 AM. |

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread
Don't know if he's playing yet
I'm nervous whenever we play the Giants. I'm confident we can at least split with Philly and Dallas. Giants always worry me though. We have to be mistake free on Sunday.

You might want to read the thread....we have already discussed this topic ad nauseam.
